I find it hard to get my head round people wanting us to challenge financially the likes of Liverpool'Man city;Chelsea;Liverpool when we clearly do not have their financial clout'
I console myself with the fact that we challenge them on the playing field.
I still say if erricson wants out then get the £100millon+ and buy two £50+ players .
All this Erricson is irreplaceable is crap and if he broke his leg or something worse we would have to replace him without the transfer fee we would have got if we had sold him.
When John White got struck by lightening and when dave Mckay broke his leg twice mostly when one Jimmy Greaves left for West Ham also when god left for Monaco all these things made me think the end of the footballing world was about to happen but you know what we still carried on and this great club will still be here when the money grabbers have long gone or for whatever these mercenaries want

What the hell are you on about? You obviously doesn't know anything if you a) think eriksen is spelled ericcson, b) think eriksen is a mercenary, c) think eriksen is replaceable, d) have a hard time grasping the english language.

Cut the guy some slack. We all express ourselves differently. He's entitled to a view even if it differs from yours. His command of the english language should have no bearing on his contribution to the site. Besides your command of it is just as questionable....

The poster in question mentions his age... Lets see if your faculties remain intact at an advanced age. So he spells Eriksen wrong on a few occasions... We get who he's referring to though.

I don't worry about this one bit. I'm a fan of Eriksen, but I've always felt you guys overrate him quite a bit.

He's definitely replaceable... in fact, his replacement is probably playing for us already wearing number 11.

I too think he is replaceable. I dont advocate us selling him though but i think he is replaceable... Now on your choice of replacement . you'll get me lynched if i go any further.

There is something quite ironic about suggesting people overrate Eriksen and then promoting Lamela as a replacement.

I remember people saying that Carrick and Modric were both overrated too. That worked out well.

Have you ever seen Lamela (who I assume you are talking about) make a 40 yard pass straight at the feet or head for someone to score. I haven't but I have seen him dribble himself into to trouble on numerous occasions when a quick pass......something Eriksen is very good at......would have been the right option. Lamela is ideal to come off the bench but to replace Eriksen, You're having a laugh.

Agree with this. Eriksen is one of the best players in the league and when he’s playig well, our best player IMO.

To suggest he could be replaced by Lamela, who five years on we’re still waiting to properly get consistent form, is absolutely crazy

Lamela is a good player, but Eriksen is on of our few world class players. He would be an absolutely massive loss

The person having a pop at my bad spelling all I can say is f..k you you know-all tosser .
As for the people that rate Eriksen so highly as I do also if you think that anytime you praise or say how wonderful and irreplaceable he is will make any difference to him clearing off for bigger bucks then you are very much deluded.
Players that show loyalty and allegiance in this day and age are in a very tiny minority.
I did not say Eriksen was mercenary but he may prove to be .
Who knows someday we may be in a position to pay the big bucks and hold on to our prized players whether it be by Levy guidance or new owners we can only hope for the best

PSG no chance.

There are only four others- Juve doubtful given the CR7 outlay (they can make funds by selling others though), then the two Spanish.
But my money would be on Bayern, who have Robben, Ribery in their twilight and Rodriguez only on loan.

If Eriksen left because we didn't want to pay him on par with the highest in our club then I'd be seriously lost for words.

If he left to win things then I'd be devastated but wouldn't be so pissed off with the club.

I cannot imagine he would go to PSG.

Says it all - well put

He has one really big move in him - that he doesn’t have to make for the record - but he has an understanble tough decision coming up given his age and contact status

Always thought he was waiting for Barca

It would be a shame if he sold out to an ordinary club like PSG in an even more ordinary league

I think the issue is more than money.

Eriksen is near or at a level to be able to play for a Barcelona level club.

If he decides he wants to try to compete at that level then it will happen.

Morally no different than him joining us from Ajax.

Not a pop at anyone but I wish fans would stop calling players mercenaries everytime they leave a club.

People want different challenges and to be the best. It doesn’t make them bad people.

We should like the players who played for us and gave their all. Hate the ones who didn’t care and took while giving little back.
