I shit myself when I saw him go down. Really happy it was only cramp.

This does give us a slight dilemma as tbh, he and Dier are both really suited to the CCB position but not so much the RCB. I would like to see Dier on the side, simply because as a former midfielder I think he'd give more to the side out there than Sanchez.
I think dier could play anywhere in the back 3. Spent a lot of time playing RB when he first joined, and comfortable stepping into midfield. As good as Romero looked today I think I’d still play dier central and Romero on the right where he be let off the leash more to step up

Except Conte prefers his attacking centre backs to play wide and the central one to stay back, so really wouldn’t suit him to play centre for us as means he wouldn’t be allowed to push forward.

Romero is just a class above any defender we have. And he is just 23....so much more to come

When he is in rhythm, he knows exactly when to come forward & nick the ball in front of the opposition forward. Most defenders foul the forwards. when doing that. Other part of game mostly goes unnoticed is what a crisp passer he is. His passing has certain vision and weight of the pass is soooo good.

Hope he remains fit and has a run of games under Conte

Still think in time he may need to learn to be more selective of when he goes all in aggressively to win the ball.

However, he does look very good as exudes a level of confidence in what he’s doing. Looks assured on the ball as well.

I've seen that posted a few times but I have some reservations on him playing there. In the small amount of games he's played for us I think he's been shown up by pacier players and as a wide CB I would expect to see him come up against more of those than if placed in the centre.

I'd also say that Conte has only had Romero available for two games at the early part of his tenure. Maybe Conte persists and Romero develops out wide, or perhaps with more time working with him he coaches him for the central role.

Will now retreat to his cave. Tend the wolf pelts and skin the bear. Give himself a new tattoo with a sharp stick and the blood of a virgin elk.

Until the next game, Rombo!

My son plays in central defence for his U12 team. I made sure he didn’t take his eye off Romero the entire game.

The Paraticci influence perhaps working in our favour?
didn't we also go in for him relatively early? The actual signing took a while but i think we submitted a formal bid pretty early on in the window. Could be wrong and have a bad memory but yeah
