That’s the first time we’ve ever heard that Danny’s interview was engineered by the club so it’s kind of harsh to call people who objected to the interview stronger then others “ignorant”, we can’t all be ITK. All we heard at the time was that poch was fuming. I’m very confused now tbh as to why we would do such a thing a few days before the season started.

But anyway all I saw people do was either make really tame lighthearted jokes or express their entirely reasonable opinion, it would be a shame to block anyone for that imo.
This might be the very first time, and I'm not entirely sure how it came to be, but I find myself in the weird and somewhat confusing state of agreeing with you.

The club consist of all staff! Light-hearted has been overtaken by bitter and twisted comments. Throw enough mud and it sticks. Once the club forgave and moved on. And note; not even a fine, that should say something. So my point still stands.

It's well and truly done now. The performance against Leicester showed me what we have been missing. Get him fit and fighting for a better deal here and we have the best left back in the league again.

Anyone that wants him gone should be fearful of what we might replace him with.

It's always been very clear to me that Danny was the spokesman for the team which is why I've never laid into him like a lot of people on here. I'm bloody glad he wants to stay.

I don't believe Rose was speaking on behalf of the team.

Regardless, I'll be delighted if he stays and hopefully we can move on from the whole thing.

Delighted if he stays, best left back in the league and makes us a much better team.
Was never bothered about what he said, I agreed with most of it. The timing was terrible though.

I always remember how pathetic the reaction was from fans when he signed a new deal back in the day. If he saw that which I reckon he did, he doesn't owe us anything. Very glad he's staying though if does, can't wait to see him bombing up left hand side at the new stadium.

Yeh sorry I'm not buying it. Rose was fined 2 weeks wages for what he said, clearly the club was less than impressed with his actions. And rightly so, they were outrageous. Blabbing to the shittiest rag that he wanted to go and play "up north", that he was unimpressed with our signings because he had to Google them? Might has well have written a public love note to Mourinho. And all a week before we start the season? Piss the f*ck off with that shit. I will support the guy whenever he pulls on a Spurs shirt, and chant his name when I'm in the ground, but purely because it benefits the team. The guys a bell. I'll remember him for the goal against Arsenal and a great half season in 2016, but frankly he's been dead to me as a player since he gave that interview. Block away xoxox <3

Typical reaction from unforgiving ignorance. As if we have not cocked up. I’m his defence. Many of us know the truth behind that interview. Now this is an ITK thread, and I will not derail it. It if ignorance is going to do. Is NOT forgive a ‘pawn’ (Danny Rose) for what he said to the scum, and honestly believe it was not engineered, more fool all of you who are slagging him off.

I don’t like dirty politics a clubs use, along with how players are used at the behest of some of the press, and Danny Rose being one.

We are here to support our players, and when the club forgives, so do we. What I will do is Block those who continue to slag him off. And YES! I am very serious ?
With respect Herc, and I really do mean that, those who hold that against Danny Rose have every right to their opinions.

Unlike you, they do not have access to ITK or upper echelons of power from within the club. They can only form their opinions from what is in the public domain and in this case from that interview with The Scum.

At the time, we were building towards one of the most pivotal seasons in the club's history, where we would be playing away from home all season until moving to our new £850m+ stadium.

We had an aura of togetherness and team unity. Walker wanted out and a crack appeared in that, then many felt that Danny plunged the knife in by questioning the club in public.

Whether he was ill advised, naive, greedy or had ulterior motives, UNLESS you want a move, you do not speak to the press.

I genuinely do not know who pushed him into doing the interview? Off his own back? His wife, his agent, maybe certain player(s) or could it have even been the manager or the club?

So with this in mind and if you want to stop or change peoples 'opinions', then perhaps there is a real need for the truth to be told.

If this is not the time or the place for that, well then you cannot expect everyone to forgive and forget.

On a personal level, I forgave him on the last game of the season, because for the first time in the season, he put in a real shift. At the time, I put in down to being his last game for Spurs, but then he does another presser, this time talking about the future and that future being here, fighting for his position.

Do people believe him or is it just that there's now less interest in him. Who knows? I really want to believe him...

Trouble is, boy cried wolf before.

This mirrors my opinion. People respect itk in the most part, but it doesn't mean we don't have different opinions. Ultimately, everyone can only base their opinion on what they know and what we, the general fan, saw publically of the Rose stuff was not really positive. However, if its not an issue for the club, that's a massive positive, because he's a quality player and one we'd struggle to improve upon.

How was that clear to you? Maybe you thought it but there’s literally no evidence for it and there still isn’t.

I can forgive because I don't necessarily disagree with what he said, however I think he's permanently harmed his relationship with the players and fans, in addition to his new stance which is essentially coming back with his tail between his legs because he knows he won't get a decent move now.

Let's see what happens if he stays, rediscovers his mojo & one of his northern clubs comes knocking with a fat salary offer. Something tells me that his desire to stay will soon disappear, again.

I get the feeling there's been word of Rose checking out the forums much like there was about Onomah, given Rose has a past of making comments about remembering fan comments it wouldn't surprise if that was the reason for people wanting the users here to layoff Rose.

Honestly what's with wanting Rose gone out of the club?Fully fit Rose is probably the top 3/4 Lb in the world and we should be hoping we get the Rose of last season back.

I’m sure itk at the time said that Rose did the interview off his own back against his agent’s advice. He also had a good relationship with the journalist going back so he felt it was a good thing to do at the time, which we can all agree it wasn’t. Itk also said that the rest of the squad was unhappy with him (that’s the bit I’ve never understood). Footballers aren’t the brightest though, we shouldn’t forget that.

It’s all forgotten for me now and if the player has shown remorse and worked hard then I suspect the coaches and his contemporaries have too.

I think the World Cup, if he’s first choice for England, will benefit us massively if he comes through it unscathed. He needs those games. Them and a preseason with us and he could really fire next season. Selling him would be the biggest mistake we could make this summer.

Perhaps that's a question the man himself should've been asked not so many moons ago, though?

So is Danny Rose staying? I liked his performance and body language in the last game of the season. If all is good now them I am happy since we will not be able to replace him easily and can't afford to go backwards as a team
