Walker and Rose can barely cross their t's, we massively overrate their ability due to the system they play in. Good riddance if you don't want to be here and best of luck replicating your recent form elsewhere.

Who does he think he is, trying to hold the club ransom and tells us to buy players that he don't have to google, I think Levy and Poch have a better idea of the set up then this ****, talking like his on Messi's level or something, wasn't long ago he couldn't even get into bristol citys or peterbroughs team. He should worship Poch for saving his career, yet does the opposite, complete disrespect. This could cause big chaos in our dressing room, and right before the start of the season, thanks Rose, real team player

No, Modric didn't wear our shirt with pride. He pissed on it when he wrote a love letter to Chelsea. Sure, a very talented player, but what he did was much worse than what Rose did.

"Chelsea are a great club, they play in the Champions League every year, they have great players, they are ambitious and have an ambitious owner who wants to invest in the club and make it win the Champions League, the Premier League and other titles."

"I'll want to go in a good way, a friendly way so I can stay friends with them". Sounds good, but he didn't show up to train and forced his way out of the club.

"It's a short period [your career] and you want to fulfil your personal ambitions as a football player, win trophies, play Champions League football every year." Rose said something similar."

So no, don't talk about Modric like he respected the club, because he didn't. I don't care if he says positive things about us after his move. He acted like a cu*t.
He didn't force his way out though. He stayed one more season. Though there was a period he went on strike, he got his act together once the season started.

There are loads of reasons why Modric's was better. Here are the two main ones.

1) Timing, he came out with this in the summer break, not 3 days before the season starts. If you are going to pin for a move, decide early or shut up, because its unfair on the club to try and make a move late in the window.

2) He writes nothing disrespecting Tottenham, the players and the strategy. He does not disrespect his employers with that quote, he is pinning for a move but only talking about Chelsea.

3) Modric has the excuse that he is not English, I think in that statement he followed the agents advice but was a bit naive, I genuinely think Modric did not understand the impact of writing such a thing. Rose has no excuse.

Both were unprofessional, but Rose's is worse, because its not just a sulk, I want to leave. Rather its a serious dig at the way the club functions and also is full of needless information that only serves to embarrass the club with no possible benefit to anyone. Well maybe Rose benefits by being able to claim he was 'forced out' an demanded a transfer, so he can collect his loyalty bonus or whatever...

Ultimately, if anyone here were in their place of work, to go to some local newspaper or something and bitch about the company (even for good reason), like Rose has, you'd be out of a job, because its extremely unprofessional. You might struggle to find another job in the same field because other companies might take note of you lack of professionalism. It really annoys me that in football acting this way just gets you what you want.

God, I hate transfer window, can't wait for football to actually start again!

Rose says he doesn't want us to sign "players you have to Google". I wonder if the irony of that statement has dawned on him. Yes they were much younger but most people hadn't heard of him or Walker when we signed them.

More recently, we have signed Son, Dier, Alli, Janssen, Wimmer, Lamela, Vertonghen and Eriksen. A lot of football fans would have had to Google them when we signed them and with the exception of Jansen (who is young and playing second fiddle to a world class player) they have all been a success.

If the irony doesn't dawn on Rose, I would hope that the financials make more sense to him, I.e that the club can't just buy three "marquee" players like United have; and have done with minimal success since signing Zlatan, Pogba, Di Maria, Shaw and others often for silly money.

If he wants to say these things then fine, he can do what he wants. Poch will either talk to him, he will get his head down and get fit/back in the team. Or he won't, we sell for a great profit, Davies continues to be a more than competent replacement, we strengthen the squad and lose someone who is frankly being quite unprofessional and ignorant. Win/win.

I just find the timing of this incredible....it's like any of us being off work sick and phoning the boss asking for a pay rise !...he is literally demanding something be done before the window shuts at a time when his valuation will be lower than if he was playing regularly with impressive performances. I smell a 'tap up' here ....:sneaky:.
He's trying to move and save his new club some money by doing so whilst recovering from an injury and currently not fully fit....he and his agent have cooked this up together because someone has made 'discrete' enquiries.

Apparently DR is a hero down at the training ground. Why is that do you think is it because he had the balls to say what they have all been talking about? As high as their wages are you have to pay the going rate or you will have unrest among the team. We even lost a player to Leicester because they offered more money in wages.
All you lot that are blaming Rose and reckon he's niot much good anyway need to look at why Walker left, why Toby hasn't signed a new contract, why Dier would be happy to leave.
It's all very well being the only club that makes a profit every year but this is a football club and we want the best players and we want to win the league, the CL, the FAC. and we want the players to stay. We all know there is no real loyalty in football but pay them what they are worth or at least what the going rate is and they will stay and we will win things if you don't you will have a different team every year and no silverware.
I honestly believe the worst thing that has happened is the new stadium. Instead of making us stronger it could weaken us with poor wages and players leaving because we don't have the money to pay them. Then what happens when it's finished we have a second rate team because they have all left and it's back to middle table all over again.
We have money, we've got 70 mil from sales so far. Don't buy anyone use it to up the wages and we can then get on with a contented team.
But done blame Rose it could have been anyone of them that said it as they were all thinking it. It has become embarassing in recent weeks when you read how low some of the players wages are compared to other clubs and not just the top six.
We need a happy team to have any chance of winning things so come on Levy make it right. We know you are just an accountant but show us you have ambition and some balls.

I think that the current wage structure is probably unsustainable in the current world of football economics (whether the current world of football economics is sustainable is another question entirely!) but it wouldn't surprise me if Rose wanted to leave anyway and talking to the media (knowing that it would anger Poch and Levy) has been a strategy to contrive a move.

All this bollocks about moving back up north and winning trophies lets face it its about money simple as that.

Rose also says he wants what hes worth, i'd like to know what he values himself at ie.. transfer fee because he can try and blackmail a wage rise or try and push for a move away but id like to know how much he thinks a club should be paying us for him, what he's worth.

I'd ask him that and tell him when someone comes in for at least that amount then we'll let him know until that if he really is a professional as he makes out he'll get on with it and (when fit) behave like a professional. That'll soon prove if its about money or not.

Walker going was a blow but Rose going is a kick in the bollocks, imo Rose is worth more than Walker.

Got to stick to our guns in this. Otherwise every player will know what he has to do to get move.

Walker was different. Was on our terms and Pochettino's decision made last season.

Only reason we can sell Rose is if Pochettino actually wants Shaw and we do a swap + £30m for Rose.

Typical entitled millennial footballer. 65k a week not enough for someone who has help us win zilch.
If we had just completed the league and champions league double maybe I could understand a bit.

Money is an obvious factor. If you actually read all his comments you'd see he actually said he is happy where he is, but one day he'd like to move back closer to his mum. It's not like he said he 100% wants to move now and it's only to go up North.

Walker was different but by selling him before signing anyone we opened ourselves up for this.

I dont want Shaw id rather Rose play as hes a very good player and get on with it. The problem with this is it does highlight the wage thing to players in the squad and any potential players coming in. Levy has to stop trying to do this on the cheap we are now in the upper level in the league and to keep these players and to build we have to stop trying to take the piss or this will happen time and time again. Just because Rose in the only one to come out dosnt mean the rest are not thinking it. Try getting Toby to sign a cheap new contract now, not a chance.

Where do you get this information that Danny Rose is a hero at the training ground? Reliable ITK says complete opposite. Giving the fact this is also a tight knit group who seem to share Pochs ethos I can’t see them believing he’s a hero.

The players get huge bonuses when playing. Funnily enough Danny Rose has been out injured for months so probably been feeling the pinch. This coninceding with he’s best pal walker earning triple his wage and sharing the same agent.. you could also add in that he has more than likely been tapped up and you can start seeing why this has happened, nothing to do with our transfer policy.

7 months and 15 games back he was happy to sign that long term contract, no one stuck a gun to his head. Wages haven’t changed that much since then... But still I wouldn’t begrudge him a move, I can’t put someone down for being ambitious. I like to see myself as ambitious but I wouldn’t shit over my employers and co-workers in the process.

There’s ways of going about this, going to a newspaper like The Sun and claiming poverty and putting your teammates down certainly isn’t it.

And who’s this player Leicester signed ahead of us? Is it the lad from City? The one which is a glorified (no risk to City) Loan?

Those who think that mutinous bastards like rose will be happy once he gets what he wants are deluded. We could be paying Arsenals wages for example and then all of a sudden you've got a Sanchez on your hands. We could be the Barcelonas of this world in terms of wages and then have the likes of Neymar want a wage rise. It ain't about football... it never is. It's about money and their wage rise will never be enough. They'll always hold their club you ransom no matter who they are or what club they play for.

What I don't understand is the idea of him or Walker wanting to leave to win trophies. Fair enough if we were a mid-table club, but we're a really exciting young team who've got a fantastic chance of winning things if we keep our squad together and keep improving. Surely it would be hugely more satisfying winning a trophy with a bunch of guys you've been playing with for years, working really hard to improve year on year until finally reaching the top, as opposed to playing a bit-part role in a team full of mercenaries who are almost guaranteed to win something purely because their resources massively outstrip anyone else. How is that gratifying for a player? Where is the sense of achievement?

If you want to win something, fucking play better and help us win it rather than just tagging on to some other club - it's the player version of glory hunting.

Obviously that's not the real issue here and he's just after the money...

What a stupid looking bloke Danny Rose is for pulling this stunt. He says he has had time to think while he has been injured, so he has obviously been able to think what type of effect this story could have, written in the dirtiest rag of the lot, the week before the season starts.

Smells like he has been tapped up with the goal of upsetting our apple cart. Totally disrespect to the club, the fans, the manager and his teammates.

I say let him rot in the reserves and get a better player in.

Not about the money though.
