Shame. Decent player.

If the fans, Conte/Mourinho hadn't completely ruined the guys confidence I would have been keen to keep him as fourth choice.
Let down by the club in buying him for a certain system and getting played in another.

He deserves to go and he will be a decent addition for a lot of teams.

We can’t get attached to players who have been below par for the past few years simply because they put in good performances over a two game stretch. I certainly would opt for Dave over Dier and Davies, but if the plan is to bring in another CB this window then he can absolutely be sold.

The question then is, why they were below par?

If Ange can use a player we already have, rejuvenation is better than replacement.

If they want to play, have the skill and Ange trusts them, then that's good enough.

Isn't the point of a new manager to get different results with the squad we have mostly already assembled? It can't be root and branch change with every shift in manager.

it’s all in the context of the club still listening to offers though. If Ange was fully of that mindset, rather than temporarily adapting, he just wouldn’t be for sale I imagine. Then the chit chat would be dead.

Unfortunately with a year left on his contract and our HG Issues selling him is probably the best move even though he is currently our third best defender and has been looking better of late. Keeping Dier at the club when Sánchez is leaving however is really disappointing.

Neither of them should be here really should they and should have gone a couple of summers ago. I don’t know another club as bad as us at giving repeat offenders another chance. No other top club anyway, they move them out.

He may well have wanted to move on before the shift in manager. If you were scapegoated by fans for the tactical issues caused by big name ego managers, then you might want a fresh start. May still.

But we all wanted Kane to feel it was going to be okay with Ange.

Bang on.

Need to start being ruthless with the consistent underperformers.

Sanchez hasn't been at the required level for years - it's time to move him on.

I'm surprised how cut and dried the narrative that Sanchez is superior to Dier is and how quickly its become entrenched.

I wouldn't agree with that over any part of their Spurs career tbh. Think people are loving the redemptive aspects of Sanchez having some comeback performances (similar to Emerson) and this leads them to underpaying how regularly he hasn't been up to par.

I'm fine with either or both of them going, to be clear.

Neither are ideal but Sanchez has the pace to play in a high line which is our future. Dier doesn’t so if it’s a choice in this system it’s an easy decision.

One year left on his contract, he's underperformed and has been underutilised, get some money for him now - and even if Dier stays... get another CB in.

Cash in, thanks for your service!

Really hope these Sanchez, Ndombele and Reguillon links prove to be founded cause we need some movement.

If he stays he will be back up to Romero. Not 4th choice, which is different.

It’s really down to Ange. If he wants to keep him then we should offer him a new deal. If not, let the lad move on and try to reignite his career

Really though? We’re struggling to sell players, and moving Sanchez on is a shame?

I like him. Not saying I can't see why it doesn't make sense from both the player and club point of view, but personally I think he is still a good squad option for us, especially in Ange's system.

Shame wanted him to stay as 4th CB.

If he goes we better sign 2 new ones not just one! Davies or Dier as 4th CB would be a nightmare and Phillips too young/soon.
