He still plays exactly the same on the left and is pretty good on his right and yes he does still take alot of shots. Dawson said it last week he is most 2 footed player at our club since he shoots with both all the time

A certain Mr Eriksen would dispute that now I would think, but that's interesting. I never really rated his right when he was in youth, must have improved that aspect.

Townsend likes to cut inside, he doesn't really work the line. I don't know how that would play. I would much prefer Sig or Chadli in over him on the lw.

His dad mentioned that he likes Townsend to run down the wing and whip it in. He also said that he only started playing wide right at QPR. Think he would do a good job on the left, at least more natural than Lamela would. I would agree that he's been very effective as a RW though and probably his best position. People say he shoots too much but I'm not complaining because to be fair they're usually close to the target.

Yeah I mean Townsend was a left winger as recent as this time last year, no?

I'd like to see him on the left too. Would give us more balance and I think he would be a tad less wasteful.

Looked very tidy in the 20 or so minutes of game time that he's had.

He appears to brush past players with ease when running at them.

I think he'd do a good job on the left. He's got good delivery, still retains the option of shooting with his right, but is arguably more likely to go to the line. I think it would work well, and I'd like to see him get more game time personally.

Frankly, if he decided to just belt it across the goal in the way that he shoots, it'd probably be relatively successful!

His highlights vs Norwich- this was seriously in 10 minutes- What a player!

...oh lolly lolly...firat 35 secs: him standing on the sidelines. Next 30 secs: a tackle. Remaining 50 secs, a couple of blocked crosses...

I love these player compilations but really, let's not call for a knighthood just yet...

I just spent an hour and a half going through this thread page by page, as it all unfolded.

I then watched everyone jizz over our new signing.

Now I'm depressed.

Lamela is basically like a new signing. Having re-read the thread, I for one am hopping into the Nova and razzing it down Tottenham High Street with Chaz and Dave and Spurs flags flying out the windows.

this is right for Lamela as NOVA in many places in the world means NO GO or BROKEN. I hope next season he'll turn into an F1 winner
