Ultimately with Lamela it's about patience.

He's a talented player but not the finished article, and it's question of how long it will take to achieve that at Spurs.

This is a big season for him (if he stays) cause if he doesn't progress then that will probably be the end of his stint at WHL.

Money well spent then.

Certainly not, but at least he does take a good corner. There's little evidence of the quick pass and move despite that being on show at Roma. I think with more pace around him he might improve, but it needs to be quickly if it does arrive. Chadli gets away with not being quick himself by being someone who looks to get into spaces often rather than the ball, but Lamela should really be the total opposite of that.

To be honest I think players will join and he is going to find it hard to get in the team. I think he might get loaned to an Italian club with a view to a move, which is probably the best for everyone.

A goal is a goal.
Do you really care were it comes from?
I hate this shite our fans seem to think if goals not from open play it shouldn't count.
A chance created is a chance.
Would you care if Kane scored the majority of his goals from corners?

You should start rapping... Lyrical Jizz. :ROFLMAO:

Lamela sucks.
He can't beat man one-on-one,
he blocks his teammates running lines,
just awful player, deal with it.
I have nothing good to say about him.
Just off with his fucking
ladyboy head.

@jezz I'm starting to worry about your mental health... How can you be this attatched to one player?
Thanks I'm for looking for the nearest bridge.
Only joking
I think we are rushing to judge a talented footballer a little to early.
He's shown flashes of brilliance.
We're just looking for consistency in his play.
He's only had one season of playing time.
Incidentally he scored 2 in his first playing season at Roma.
What's the rush?

What flashes of brilliance have you seen in the premier league that make you stand up and think 'wow, what a player'?

It's a shame Lamela is the player that it's cool to hate at the moment as he's a lot better than 1) his performances at the start of the season and 2) people are making out.

He actually creates quite a lot and we're not exactly overloaded with creative midfielders at the moment. It will be a big mistake to let him go for £10m as he is young and could easily recapture the form he showed at Roma given a run in the team. When he had a short run in the team at the end of last season he was actually quite good and the fact that he's being lambasted so much for his very limited performances this season highlights the agenda some fans have.

If you look at Eriksen's form at the start of last season he was shocking for the first 8 or so games but there were very few calls for him to be sold because fans recognised his potential, so why is it so different for Lamela?

Surely the late development of Kane, Rose and Mason has taught us something? Our squad is thin, why is there this necessity to sell any player that isn't an automatic starter? Give the bloke a couple of years of being fit, it's only a fraction of what we afforded Lennon.

As I said posters see one misplaced pass and focus on that (you are the perfect example in this case)
The stats don't match what you are seeing, why is that?
Do you remember every game and every pass?
Or do you just remember that one pass that didn't get there?
Christ. Give it up mate.

If you can't see that Eriksen is a better distributor of the ball than Lamela with your eyes and prefer to rely on pass completion stats then your proving my point about how stats can be totally misused to prove the exact opposite of what is true.

Edit :

I would like to add I certainly don't think he's crap or anything stupid like that. It's impossible to argue though that spurs has been any good for him and his career and he's been any good for spurs. This can be down to luck, the premier league, the coaches, the player. But it really hasn't worked at all and it doesn't look like it's going to like we need it to...

I feel for the managers and coaches though. I would have absolutely no idea what the hell your supposed to do with Lamela...

Fair position to have but I don't share it.

He's shown flashes of brilliance.

Flashes of brilliance is not enough for me. I want someone that can deliver most of the time, not in a fraction of a game now and then.

We're just looking for consistency in his play.

We have seen consistency, sadly it has been a poor consistency.

He's only had one season of playing time.

No, that is not true. He has been fit for more than a season but has simply not been selected.

Incidentally he scored 2 in his first playing season at Roma.

I don't see how this is of any importance.

What's the rush?

I want to watch good players play good football, Lamela hasn't delivered in over two seasons due to injury and being shit. That is the rush.

Still telling everyone it's not lamela's job to play through balls?
Or has your opinion changed?

We have had two 1 trick pony philosophy managers who between them have made decent players look crap.
