I love how all the anti-Lamela knob-crabs keep saying 'let's just sell him and spend that 16mill on Mahrez or somebody better', like that's something that happens outside of Football Manager.

What's the hurry to sell him? We would just be weakening the squad even more than we already have.

It's far simpler than that as far as I'm concerned; he's patently not good enough so the question is 'why keep him?'. We've limited first team squad space so I'd much rather fill it with someone who can offer something more than lamela can/is, quite possibly in a different position. The fact that we'll likely lose out even more by holding on to him is obviously a business consideration but is secondary for me.

Good use of 'knob-crabs' though.

I love how all the pro-Lamela knob crabs are convinced they're right and everyone else is wrong and yet nearly all them childishly keep reverting to name calling.
Let me ask this, if he was at any other club anywhere and had performed as he has with us would anyone in their right mind say lets go get him?

Thought not.
Frankly if our opposition had him in the starting 11 when we play them Id do a fkin jig.

I love how passionately some fans of individual players support them in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.

I think they're nuts but they've got conviction and that's great. (y)

He doesn't go past players, he farts around in front of teams, we need width and direct pace. Lennon should be on the right

To run the ball down to the byline then float a ball over Peter Crouch's head? I miss those days...!

[though I agree on current form, Lamela hasn't added anything to our performances].

In his first five years he completed more crosses in the PL than all bar one player, ronaldo

Has any one else noticed that Lamela never does that little trick when he drags his foot on top of the ball anymore?

Atleast when he joined he always had a trick and tried to beat a man

Now he is just lacking in confidence and just cuts inside on his left foot Everytime and try to play a through ball that is intercepted.

He does not have the strength for a lad his size to compete, he is not a small, low centre of gravity, David silva type that he tries to play like, nor is he a strong running, pacey, direct shooting Gareth bale type.

I just don't know what type of player he actually is, when he figures this out for himself he may come good

Personally I think he needs to become a number 10 teddy sheringham type player, but then does he have the intelligence?

For me, I'd sell in a heartbeat, I mean this kid tries his best and runs and presses more than most and for that fair play, but Hes not going to cut it in the prem in afraid,

To save his own career he needs to leave and maybe go back to Italy to a league he is more suited.

I would love to see him succeed he seems a great lad, but just like rebrov and postiga I loved these guys but they were exactly the same.

Reckon we could get a nice swap deal with Roma for one of their players, maybe even two. Pretty sure they still rate him there. At this club though, his time should be done. Few weeks ago I was hounded for not being impressed by his 2 goal 7 assist mega season, thankfully now most have taken the wool of their eyes.

I think the simple fact is now that we look to be signing Berahino, we have got N'Jie, Pritchard is hopefully breaking through, plus Chadli, Eriksen and even Andros when fit then despite the management's public claims to the contrary, do they really see Lamela as part of their plans?

Really?
After 3 games and I'm being generous here.
Club says he's not for sale and ITK says the same.
How many did Dembele get last season?
He's not going bye the looks of things get used to it.

7 days and we can put this to bed one way or another.

How long does he have on his contract?

Potentially a successful loan spell back in his comfort zone could revive his career and his potential transfer value (if he has long enough on his contract for that in itself not to be a source of depreciation)

I have always liked him and I really wanted him to be a success - both my cousins from Rome said he could be the next Ronaldo when he signed for us (and one is a lazio season ticket holder who hates any and everything roma ) so as you can imagine I was very excited by his signing

I now simply can't see him being a success with us and I think the longer he stays with us the more his career will stagnate and his value depreciate

I think we need an option/s that can replace him and had more strength and pace (ability to dictate the game)

If he could play like he did against qpr when we won 4-0 consistently he would be great - unfortunately teams in the epl rarely lay down and die like that though and all other teams find it pretty easy to out muscle, contain his predictable runs and pretty much nullify him

If he stays I will continue to hope and continue to support him but my head over heart opinion is that like Soldado he isn't cut out for us (unless perhaps we were to reshape our whole team to somehow play to his strengths, which we won't) and he will spend the next season disappointing again before being sold next year at a significant loss and being remembered as a major flop and disappointment like the Soldado's, Paulinho ' s, Postiga 's and Rebrov's of Spurs history

Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge should be able to see that Lamela just isn't the player that someone thought we were buying, maybe we bought his brother who used to play for a non league team somewhere,or a pub team on a Sunday.

He brings nothing to the team, absolutely nothing and for Poch to keep wasting a shirt on him is total madness. I can only assume that Poch is as clueless and some are now beginning to think

If Juventus want him,we should take their arm off at the elbow, book a very fast private jet,sit him in a nice comfy seat and take the money before they change their mind

I think Juventus wanted Eriksen but we said NO SALE but you can have Lamella and they said NO THANKS. Thats what I heard anyway.

Result even though that contradicts every thing we've heard it means he's staying.
Thanks for that:)
