Wouldn't surprise me if Ryan Fredericks is baked into a deal for Burnley to avoid having to pay City as much as they'd have to in straight cash deal. Levy has been willing to do deals like this before.

So basically he read a website saying Lolerpool were linked with Trippier, then without seeing him play or trying to research makes a youtube video and just dismisses the player, and says is not good enough. Even though he admits he doesnt know anything about him. Apart from what he read on a story that they were linked with him.

Just WOW!

Sums up there fan base.

Seems to tick all the right boxes. And if Mitchell Poch and the Scouting team think he is good enough then i trust them!

Mitchell identifies, Poch/team looks and agree's then Baldini goes and finds out a price :) sounds like a gd system to me!

Or Yedlin on loan, but that's a good shout.

Just a thought - perhaps Trippier being used in a deal for Ings?

It's Bournemouth, not Burnley, who will get most of the money from the tribunal. So perhaps it's a fiddle like Davies and Vorm? Say pay £6.5m for Trippier and £0.5m for Ings, instead of £3.5m for Trippier and compensation for Ings.
Excellent point.

Was about to say pretty much the same thing, doesn't know anything about him but still feels he's not good enough to play for Liverpool, excellent logic there. He basically doesn't want him because of who he currently plays for.

If we do sign trippier, we should show him this video just before we play the bindippers, hopefully shove his words down his stupid mouth.

Very excited by this and hope it happens.

Kye Walker does worry me so nice to see we're looking at another English right back who can come in and do a good job and in fact looks an upgrade.

No room for sentiment, we want to be the best we need to resolve all our question mark positions in the team rather than hoping someone can come good.

Not really seen much of him, but judging by people comments we are getting a good player for the money. By heck he can cross a good ball. Would love to see Harry on the end of some of those deliverys, much like Sunday

Whoscored have Trippier with 4 PL assists from his 38 matches (with 1.7 key passes per game average) - all good stuff but the video on the thread with zillions of assists is from last season when Burnley were in the Championship.

But at £3.5m the 24 year old is a great price for us - and hope he does push Walker (assuming he gets fit in the pre-season) to get back to the level he was when he was young POTY a couple of seasons ago, but if not Trippier is a ready made replacement.

And I could see Fredericks going in the opposite direction (if he'kll go) - but after a decent season with Championship Middlesborough he may have higher ambitions or Yedlin on a loan to help the deal through Burnley

Truly encouraged that we have looked here in England for a decent homegown player rather than a cheap import. Nothing against overseas players but great we are looking nearer to home.
Brings back memories of Dawson, Huddlestone, Lennon and dare I say it Jenas!!

Trippier and ings remind me of Carr and Keane!!

Would be happy with both

I remember Poch said recently that we (Spurs) need to be cleaver I'm the transfer market and we cannot compete with the top sides in terms of finance! He said they have a plan and this seems like a sensible plan!!

Makes sense and is also encouraging that he (Poch) has identified RB as an area we need to strengthen as he did with LB last season.

Whether the trippier signing will result in a resurgence in walkers form or in us Having a new starting RB who knows.... But this is what is needed!

Also walkers fitness cannot be taken for granted and if we are to improve defensively...we need a more consistent back 4

Beating Chelsea with 5 Englishmen in the team (Rose, Walker, Mason, Townsend and Kane) was awesome

Not sure what's not to like about this move. He's still relatively young with most likely his best years of football ahead of him, he counts as a homegrown player, he's cheap, he has PL Experience (and also played well) and he basically fits the mold of a Poch-type fullback perfectly. It's really smart business not only from the financials aspect but from the perspective of the player we are bringing on. Walker has been far too untouchable for too long. Trippier could easily take the spot from him if he doesn't take his game to a new level.

For what its worth Stan Collymore had Trippier as his RB in his premier league team of the season a couple of weeks ago.

It shows how stupid man city are when you look how they are struggling for homegrown players. Surprised they haven't got involved actually as Sagna was a stupid signing for them.

He's ok as a back up I guess but he's average at best. Fairly quick and ok technique but nothing to write home about and defensively iffy. Does work his balls off to be fair. I'd put this in the Davies bracket of transfers, not bad, not great.

Trippier is ok and has a lot of energy, but I don't know how much of his plaudits are due to standing out in a low quality team. I appreciate though that until he has a chance to step up you cannot judge that though.

I'd be disappointed if Fredericks didn't get a chance, to be honest.
