Tottenham want Lucas Moura but PSG must lower £35m asking price

Tottenham have a longstanding interest in Paris Saint-Germainwinger Lucas Moura, who has been told by his manager to find a new club this month.

But Spurs do not expect to sign the £75,000-a-week Brazilian in January unless the situation significantly changes, as the cost of a deal is currently considered prohibitive, withPSG rating him at around £35million.

Moura has made just six appearances this season and PSG boss Unai Emerysaid: “I spoke with Lucas. With all respect, I think he has no other options here and should look for another club, because he’s a great player.”

Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, who has made just six appearances for the club this season.

I defo think Lucas is better than sissoko and levy splashed 30 ms on him. Makes sense not too add 5 million more for Moura if levy can stretch to that sum 2 years ago?

Two questions if I may. Firstly, those wanting us to sign Moura now, do you think we'd sign Malcom in addition ( even if he doesn't join us until summer )

I can't see both.

Secondly, what happens to Lamela if we sign either or both?, played as a rotation with Eriksen back in the hole, or surplus.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura but do not currently expect to sign him this month, a source has told ESPN FC.

Moura, 25, has been told to find a new club after making just six appearances this season.

Head coach Unai Emery told Marca: "I spoke with Lucas. With all respect towards him, I think that he has no other options here and should look for another club, because he's a great player."

Moura has told L'Equipe he is unhappy at PSG and described his limited playing time as "a brutal blow."

He said: "I'm gutted that I'm no longer playing, to no longer be able to express myself as I was doing before.

"But it doesn't matter where I end up, I know what I'm capable of. I didn't become an international by chance."

L'Equipe suggested Moura, who earns around £75,000-a-week at the Parc des Princes, is valued at €30 million by PSG.

At present, Spurs do not expect Moura to join this month, although they have a longstanding interest in him and will continue to monitor his situation in the final days of the winter window.

The player's agent, Herminio Menendez, told Estadio Deportivo that Real Betis were interested and added: "A Premier League move over Betis? I am not aware of anything like that.

"There are several clubs in England interested in Lucas, though. We will have to see how it develops."

Le Parisien reported that Betis had made an offer of €18m plus bonuses, taking the deal to around €30m.

Spurs are also interested in Bordeaux winger Malcom, 20, but the Ligue 1 strugglers have said he will not leave this month.

"Malcom will stay with Bordeaux this winter, that is a certainty," president Stephane Martin told SFR Sport.

"We have no discussions at this stage with Tottenham, nor any other club. There is no chance of him leaving."

Think it is a very difficult deal to do for anyone. Valencia cannot afford him.
Cheers Herc. Curious why if PSG want/need him gone so much they are making it so hard unless it is simply a case of he is the 'best' player they want to sell and they have to maximize what they can get out of him or face consequences. I suppose the consequence is the same is the miss by a pound or a penny so for them it's worth the gamble to hope someone pays?

It could be that the PSG part isn't the problem.
