He's going to become a cult hero isn't he.

If he could empty some of he concrete out of his boots, we would have half a player.

Can't knock his energy and effort tonight, best game for us all season. His breakout style suits away games versus superior opposition, in which we have greater open space to exploit. Just a shame he will 9/10 make a poor decision or execution.

I don't see how he will ever be a viable option in the future. Especially when Lamela, Dembele and Wanyama are back (plus Barkley?)

Hey-ho let's enjoy Sissoko while he lasts.
I think he can be our Park Ji Sung, James Milner or Dirk Kuyt tbh. Just does what is asked of him and a good defensive job most of the time in multiple positions. Offers dynamism but yeah his end product is lacking unfortunately.

just reiterates that you can't write off a player after their first season.

Lamela, Son and now Sissoko have shown huge improvements in their 2nd seasons.

If young players hadn't seen enough of how well Pochettino does in improving players - who have the desire to improve - the way Pochettino kept faith in Sissoko, despite of his poor last season and his comments, must have really brought the message home that few, if any present manager/head coach, has the same capacity.
I can't think of many who've improved so many players as Pochettino (at least not in recent times).
No one is laughing now of his transfer fee (which I still doubt was £30m). He'll certainly fetch more than £30M should Spurs decide to sell him though.

Sissoko hasn't remotely got the technical ability of Milner, but I get what you're saying. He got into great space and ran at them well last night. But his end product is simply poor.

He could well be the new Ronnie Rosenthal... Big shoes to fill tbh, but I think he can do it!

Let’s not make out he knuckled down in s huge desire to prove himself.Basically there were no takers in the summer. If there were we would have sold him.Is his sudden upturn in form due to great coaching or realising there’s a World Cup this summer who knows. But he’s gone from being a laughing stock to a very valuable squad member. His whole career has been this way.So there’s obviously some kind of flaw whether it’s confidence or I just cba till there’s a major tournament, who knows.

Fenerbache and Marseille were interested but they couldn't afford him. Think it's safe to say that it's down to confidence as it is with all players.

I really hope he does. He deserves it after some of the crap us fans (including myself) gave him last season
He deserved the criticism he got from fans, he didn't moan , he knuckled down and got on with it. Now he is turning opinions around because of his performances. Anybody not in the team should take a leaf out of his book.

Why isn't Eriksen breaking his neck to try and get on to that? I know he has to check his stride to stay onside, but he almost doesn't even make an effort to get hold of that and just lets it run.
Because he expected the defender to intercept the ball, hence the split second hesitation. Thats the difference between natural goalscorers and the not so natural, the readiness in all goalscoring situations. Kane wouldve probably not break his stride in anticipation of the ball coming to him.

This is important - let's not let a few increasingly impressive performances gloss over the fact that we paid £30m for a 28 year old France international and Premier League vet who was complete, total and utter gash for his entire first season.

It's great that he's improved so massively so far this season, and let's hope he can keep it up, but I'm not having all this "oh all those who criticised him before should go and stand in the naughty corner because he's been decent in a handful of games" crap that's suddenly working it's way into the discussion.

He was absolute tripe for a long time, contributed effectively nothing, and deserved everything he got.

Thank God it's a World Cup year.

I think this post is about as gash as the accusations you level at him!

In his first season with us, he came in with no pre-season - having come from a season with Newcastle being relegated. Into a high-intensity environment... yet you expect him to hit the ground running and be immediately up to speed?

He has been decent at worst this season so far, fantastic at best and a useful team-player the rest of the time. A bit of pre-season and confidence really does wonders!!

His decision making once he has burst through their first line of defence will improve with his confidence over time. A few more goals and assists and i think he could really become a very useful cog in this Spurs-machine.

Some of the shit being levelled at him was far beyond what it should have been. To say he deserved everything he got, smacks of someone not able to eat their own words as they were so bitter and distasteful...

In short: Yay Sissoko, Boo Bobbins!

Fantastic at best? Decent at worst? Laughable.

Lay off the spirits Midondefoe.

He's improved but let's not rewrite history. He was awful for a long, long time and only got game time this season because of injuries.
