A) It's not always poor.
B) Why does Eriksen avoid criticism when he dithers and loses the ball.

Eriksen gets cut more slack because of all of the sublime moments he's treated us to. I'm not a Sissoko hater but the percentage of good moments from him is still pretty low and sublime moments is still zero.

I’m pleased with the progress Sissoko has made but really.....comparing Eriksen getting some slack when he occasionally doesn’t make the right decisions.....

34 goals and 40 assists in a 142 games and being in the top 3 chance creators in the league over the last couple of years earns you some slack!!

Have i missed something? He still cant pass or shoot to save his life, his decision making is still poor but he has managed to run into space and hustle a few players.

Does that really constitute a 'massive improvement'? Essentially he's good until he has to kick the ball. I'm all for positivity and support but the overreaction needle has swung way too far.

Er, yes, it does. He was that bad.

I just feel that as a professional footballer a player should at the bare minimum become proficient at 'kicking the ball' before we define anything as real improvement.
Don't use the word 'improvement ' then. By the way, do you think his contribution to our performance against Real represents a real improvement on his contributions in general last season? Coz I do .

Just because he started as a complete liability and now he is just crap doesn't mean we should all be praising him for being crap, he might make it to decent or even good but lets not get ahead of ourselves, he's still crap.

If i went to a restaurant and they served me raw chicken i wouldn't eat it and smile on the basis that last time i ordered it it was raw chicken covered in broken glass.

He’s played a load of good passes in the last few games. His pass to Aurier in the build up to our goal against Madrid for example.

Don't know why you aimed that diatribe at me, I was just pointing out that he has improved.

But now you're here, his 'just crap' performance contributed, strongly I would say, to us holding a very good team to a draw at their place. How do you feel about that. Is it still not good enough?

You replied to me and then asked me a question, sorry if that caught you off guard. And thats not a diatribe, i used full stops and everything and didn't even say fuck or shitbags once.

He contributed to a good team performance and Poch clearly sees something and has a role for him, but individually he's still not performing at a level high enough. I saw people describe his performance as 'amazing', it's massively over the top for a player who still half the time looks like his brain and feet are on a satellite link up.

If any other player had performed like him this season they'd be baying for blood, he's playing worse than Lamela when Lamela was rubbish and people wanted him deported, people have gone a bit weird just because he's not appalling and looks interested.

Im happy he's better than he was and Poch knows more than me but people have gone well overboard is all. Shitbags.

Actually you should try it... Raw chicken is amazing. I eat it pretty regularly.

With regards to Sissoko, I think he's played well in most games this season. He's causing teams all sorts of problems and opening up space for other players. I voted Lloris man of the match against Madrid, but Sissoko was up there in my opinion

If you focus on what he doesn't do well you just end up regurgitating the same stuff over and over again. See 99% of the posts in this thread for details.

But if you focus on what he does well, he's a handful. And paradoxically the bigger the game / the tougher the opponent the more of a handful he is.

Definitely not an archetypical Spurs player but a good option for the squad & I admire the way he's got his head down and kept working hard despite the barrage of criticism from large parts of our fan base.

Funny how we're coping so well without Wanyama and Dembele.

Dier doing well, Winks coming in and been great but make no mistake Sissoko has done really well and added some much need power and drive that the teams lacks without the injured pair.

It's not just about assessing the individual in isolation, it's about assessing their contribution to the collective. Amazes me how so many fail to realise this.

Thankfully it doesn't go unnoticed with the ones who make the decisions.

Aren't both of those equally bad ways of looking at things?
