i would see edwards given some game time as a better option
A .1% fit Erik Lamela is a better option than Moussa Sissoko. Hell, I could probably a better option than Sissoko and I'm a fat, lazy, slow as shit drunk and a pot head.

We could have gotten better use out of the £49m we pissed away on Sissoko and Janssen by literally setting that amount on fire and pissing on the flames. That is how terrible that business was. And Pochettino has to answer for that. He wanted these players. These were his choices. He has to answer for it.

What should be his punishment?

Pochettino has literally lost the plot with Sissoko. He was awful like everyone else last night, but for fuck sake if your going to play him, play him in a position he can fucking play.
HE IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE A RIGHT MIDFIELDER/WINGER
Isn't that blindingly obvious to everyone on the planet.
For the last time..
He is a CENTRAL MIDFIELDER!!!
He is a box to box midfielder.
No we don't want him dropping between centre backs. No we don't want him receiving the ball deep and start spraying the ball around. Leave that to the defensive midfielder.
He hasn't the skillset in tight areas out wide thats obvious. He'd get far more space centrally playing off the cuff with someone sitting behind.
What we want him to do is get after the ball, get around the pitch, give the ball to our better players, drive forward with the ball when you can.
Pochettino is ruining any chance Sissoko has of being successful at this club.
What we've seen of Sissoko so far has been atrocious, he cannot be this bad as he wouldn't have 50 caps for France.
It was an ideal opportunity to play him central midfield last night. Whether it would have made much difference is debatable, but at least give him a fair crack of the whip.
This is one of those very strange transfers that no one can work out why we bought him. We've wasted huge money on a player we have no idea how to utilise.
We've spent £30m on someone who'd be 4/5th in the pecking order in central midfield.
What an obscene waste of money, but while he's here at least try and give him a chance there.

I agree with you to a certain extent and about it being a very stupid transfer but my point stands about his technical ability being non-existent. His first touch is horrendous and passing is poor.

People said he played well for France last summer but all I saw was a player picking up the ball running head down and crossing the ball without looking. Exactly what he's done here in the main.

He hasn't been an effective central midfielder since he partnered Capoue there playing for Toulouse. His national team manager doesn't play him as a central and neither have his club managers since 2012. They must have watched him enough times to know where his best position is (if it exists).

We can all attest though it's been a shit transfer.

Our hit rate at this point is something like 3% (arbitrary number, just throwing out for dramas sake). Son, Lamela, Eriksen, Dele are the only transfer ins (attacking side) that I can think of that are actual squad ready. Our transfer business has been woeful and last year takes the cake.

From 30 + 17 + 11 + Wages well over 100k, we have something like 5 goals (all penalties) and two assists or some laughable amount.

And Sissoko on defense is really nothing special as some people defend that part of his game. He was being worked by the Gent LB.

Let's be honest he's not the only heap of shit we have bought. Jansen total waste of money and absolutely useless. Nkoudou another pointless Njie clone who has offered nothing. Who the hell targets these useless players?

If targeting useless attacking players is an art, spurs is the picasso of it.

So he really 'only' cost £17m as long as he goes this summer.
I don't understand why Newcastle have added penalty clauses of £6m a year - they make it a near certainty he will be quickly sold, and on face value, that is harsh on a player who in an ideal world could have settled in and shown his true worth (in a good way).

So maybe this is just an accountancy trick to help Newcastle balance the books this season. Hopefully this is effectively a season loan.

If we paid 2.5m for Sissoko everyone would be saying why are we bloating our squad with average cheap players. I genuinely struggle to see absolutely any redeeming qualities from the recent games I've watched him in. Has anyone seen anything to suggest he has any redeeming qualities? Even the pace he was supposed to show has been lacking.

Hopefully we can get some slither of the money back in the summer from a team that has clearly never watched him either.
Erm tbh if you were judging Kane on the last 4-5 90min performances, would you be singing his praises?

We've been flat most season.

Sissoko is shite, no doubt, but, for a lot of time, so have a lot of the others.

Your assessment of Sissoko is pure bullshite. If he is half as bad as you imply how on earth did he become a professional player let alone a French national team player. Your bias bullshite discredit whatever opinions you have about him as a player.

What? Is that you Sissoko?

His assessment was spot on. Sissoko has been bullshite as you say. What is it that you see in him? Are the masses missing something? Has he scored this season and I just missed it?

How can a fan have bias towards or against a player? I don't know him personally. I know what I see though, and so does everyone else by the sounds of the constructive comments on this thread whatever they think of him.
