Bossed the midfield. You could see the chelsea players not wanting any thing to do with him.

Again from the Independent article...

Great central midfielders often take on the personae of artists. Xavi, obviously enough, was Monet: all short, perfect dapples, not a stroke wasted. Zinedine Zidane was Caravaggio: the piercing light and the devastating dark, the infinite poise and the murderous desire. Moussa Sissoko, on the other hand, is more like one of those video installation artists who films himself sitting naked in a chair in a disused warehouse, before getting up, very deliberately picking up a sledgehammer, and violently demolishing everything in sight, right down to the four walls around him, and then pressing himself tight up against the camera, a terrifying smile on his face, and whispering: “Free the animals.”

I'm so happy for this guy. The thick skin he has and mental strength to go through the lack of support (yes i know he hasn't played great previous seasons) but what he went through was completely unjust and he has never been disrespectful about the club, the fans, his team mates or Poch, he has been a model pro since he has been here and i have huge respect for the way he has handled himself.

To now see the consistent performances he is putting in, it's a joy to see. Confidence does wonders for people, seeing a CM of Dier and Sissoko this time last year would have had most people crying and laughing. But they bossed it and this guy with some really composed play, those saying he cant pass and is just a physical guy, go watch the game back yesterday. What a beast of a CM he can be and hopefully it continues through this season as he has been pivotal this year.

Great performance yesterday, absolute beast in CM. Also the blood and thunder tackle on the edge of our box was excellent
I loved that tackle. He has such a great attitude. Humble enough to keep trying when his confidence was shot to pieces and now he is a key member of the first 11. I am honestly not missing Dembele because he's stepped up so much.

The tackle you are talking about. Watch the pace to make up the ground as kovacic is so far ahead of him. He also gets up and walks off like nothing happened while kovacic is feeling like hes been hit by a truck :ROFLMAO:

Fair play to the journo, that's some top notch writing.
Absolutely spot on. The comment and the article.

Poch never gave up on Sissoko because Sissoko has never given up. By all accounts he's a likable guy in the dressing room and gets his head down, listens to the manager and works on the training pitch.

We all know Sissoko's technical deficiencies (Poch knows, Sissoko knows, we see it) but this goes back to Poch's views on the perceptions of certain players. He's not interested in our perception of Sissoko but using Sissoko the footballer in a way that benefits the team.

I had high hopes for Sissoko when he arrived but those feelings slowly evaporated. I can't believe how poor he has been from a technical viewpoint but he has listened to the coaches, worked hard and kept Poch's trust. The last month has seen a huge improvement and you gotta be pleased for the bloke.

Brilliant banter and shows a great camaraderie between the players

Isn't incredible that so recently we were bemoaning our awful summer transfer window, especially with the perception we are crying out for a top CM addition... who knew we already had that quality player already in our squad! Sissoko has raised the bar for himself now, fingers crossed he can keep up the top work.

I particularly like the way that Kovačić goes down like a bit of a fanny then quickly realises he's not going to get anything for that in the PL, so sheepishly gets up again with fear in his eyes.

I think that back near the start of this thread I expressed my (positive) opinion about signing Sissoko, saying that he could potentially be a replacement for Dembélé. I must say I've spent most of the last couple of years feeling I was terribly wrong but it's interesting to see others now saying that after the game yesterday.

As you may have noticed from a couple of posts I've put in here, I've been a big fan of Sissoko's rise from the ashes. So I've dug deep into the catacombs of Spurs social media, looking for what might have been the spark in his recovery.

I can now announce that i think I've now been able to pin-point the exact moment that Sissoko's fortunes turned around...

If he can maintain anything close to this form I'd be dishing out a new contract.

A few months ago I'd have happily seen him released on a free.

He's made me look a right ****.

Much better suited to being ‘break up’ player in the middle because he never stops running, and with 4 more technically gifted players in front of him he just needs to keep it simple on the ball.

His technical abilities were exposed playing higher up the pitch, where a team like us needs crafty intelligent players as most teams sit back against us.

Whereas Yesterday was the perfect game for him, we didn’t aim to play possession football, it was all about, pressing, breaking up play and quick transition to attack, which he played the perfect roles in.

Credit where credit is due.

His like a brick wall running around at high speed, I just wish he would crunch more people, when we played many city I thought there was fear in there eyes playing against him.
I’ve actually developed a man crush which leaves me in a moral dilemma seeing as Dembele now injured Is it cheating is it morally wrong to have fallen for Sissoko whilst Dembele not around?

I've slated Sissoko like many have. However I never understood Poch playing him on the left.. I've always felt that he should be playing in Cm.

He's looked great these last few games and I think if Poch introduces some youngsters in ever so gently over the course of the season we will be fine.

Well done Sissoko for proving so many of us wrong. He's turning into a crowd favourite and that warms the heart, knowing how he's been slated previously. I must just add that some of the slating was of his own doing. Some has been completely O.T.T though.

Long may these types of performances continue
