Imagine if he was playing 10 years ago when you could leave a proper decent tackle on someone. His tackling is sublime, it's only the fucking two Bob diving fairies conning the refs that are gonna have to keep that side of his game reigned in.

I really like the kid, but he doesn't even have a single assist this season in 27 appearances.

Yeah, get that from a hard statistical perspective but also think He’s pretty unlucky not to have a couple since I feel like he’s played a couple decent final passes that haven’t quite been finished off. Could totally be misremembering but thought he had one as recently against Leicester where I think he played a nice ball to Moura (?) that really was a fantastic chance.

Have you got electricity in the cave yet?

We've got one or two
'fucking two bob diving fairies' of our own.
Slight overstatement to say his tackling is 'sublime'
and leaving a 'proper decent tackle on someone'
sounds like a foul by any other name to me.
Capable developing player though.

Not every player has to post good goal and assist stats to be a good player and a real asset to the team.

He seems to be one of those players who you notice more when they aren't playing. He will work hard for his team mates and do all the unfussy stuff, and knits things together nicely. He hardly ever coughs up possession and doesn't just play the safe backwards pass all the time. He's now being asked to get forward as well and it'll take time before the confidence comes in an attacking sense. It is no surprise at all that every manager seems to love the kid.

He'll be dominating games consistently in the coming seasons. He needs to continually work hard which he certainly has been doing, if he can improve his shooting and goal scoring as I have already seen improvements on his passing range than Skipp move up another level.
All in all I am very happy with his current development he is captain material.

He has been excellent so far this season - remarkable considering he is just a 21 year old kid. He has the ability and more importantly the mentality to go all the way. He is almost certainly going to be an England regular in the next 2 years in my opinion. He still has elements of his game that he can improve but with Conte he has probably the best coach in world football guiding and pushing him so I'm feeling really positive that he is going to be a total monster when he hits 24/25.

Precisely why I don't pay much attention to stats. You could lay it on a plate for another player to fuck it up, or, conversely shin a crap pass for a player you hadn't even seen to score. Skipp has had a couple of blasts at goal that have been blocked as well so there's a huge element of luck with all of it unless it's your primary job to assist or score.

Conte is the perfect manager for him, the kids a real talent and I think we need to accept his really good at.

Agree

his 21 he will score, create and improve over time. But his jobs primarily controlling, moving the ball and protecting.

I think he has probably been our player of the season so far - his performances have grown, he shows maturity and composure on the ball and his now getting into some decent advanced positions. Didn't think he was at his best on Wednesday but even then he was still more than contributing. He might not be easy on the eye but there is a lot about him and dare I say it but there is a bit of Modric about him perhaps without the attacking flair -

without actually being an exciting goal scoring midfielder I am excited to see how far he can go as a player

Oliver Skipp.
Like the boy
and he's been well handled.
Shaping up well
and currently probably the best of our midfielders
at what he does.
Not an Olympic high bar admittedly
and he's not the finished article yet at 21.
Doesn't want overburdening
with our hopes and expectations.

He’s such a unique player. Deceiving really. Has pace when he needs it, incredible engine, terrier-like all over the pitch but isn’t completely brutish and can play the incisive pass. Feel like he’s an onion and we keep peeling layers and finding more and more to his game. Absolutely love watching him play. Can’t wait until he bags a goal.
Mate, the fans in the ground will explode if he scores. Will be one of the best moments for a while... And that's after the last result.
Seeing a youth product like Skippy score will take the roof off.
