Has anybody else seen his hat-trick against Uruguay last night? A stunner from distance, a poke from a rebound and a chest-in (!) from a cross.
Knew he was quality....
Personally I blame Charlie Adam (don't we always). Paulinho had a rough-ish time with knocks and injuries at first, came back looking really good and then played a great game against Stoke and scored a good goal before being kept out for another few months thanks to a stupid/horrific Charlie Adam tackle. I think that period on the sidelines broke him for us.Was a shame with Paulinho as was really excited when we got him and initially in pre-season he looked to be settling in really well and had a really good all-round game.
But he was then just so shit.
Yep. Fuck Charlie Adam.Personally I blame Charlie Adam (don't we always). I think his confidence is a bit fragile and that challenge and the knocks he'd received earlier completely drained it. It was like he couldn't deal with the thought of another injury like that and therefore stopped trusting himself and held back too much.Whilst it contributed somewhat, I think Paulinho's inability to tackle, pass or control a ball ultimately led to his downfall.
