That could never be Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer market, we need to go through the stages... Monitoring, considering, Targeting, approaching, considering to target an approach about tabling a potential offer.
The deal needs to be off and on several times before the flight tracker is out and then deal complete...

I think Vanderson and Gusto were mentioned by Ally Gold as the other RWB prospects. Don't think any would be much cheaper than Porro's release clause, if at all.

Jeremie Frimpong could be an interesting one with Leverkusen reportedly being interested in Spence on loan.

IMO this is exactly what makes it all the more surprising that this is expected to go to the end of the window.

Something that hasn't been mentioned is whether we expect some of our loan players to be coming back. Winks and Rodon, maybe Parrot, could put a bit of pressure on the wage bill and squad spaces. Might even be others on that list. I do agree though that if we really want him we should bite the bullet and start acting like a big club.

To be honest i don't expect it to happen and especially not confident the longer we leave it, unless Sporting have a replacement lined up those late January deals rarely materialise for starting players.
They sort of have replacements lined up. For Porro, they've recalled Gonçalo Esteves from loan and he's expected to get plenty of time. Very highly rated. They nabbed him from Porto a couple of years ago.
Edwards is a bit different. Jovane Cabral has recently signed a new contract, but that was basically to retain value. There isn't a spot for him in the team as regularly as he'd like, but if they can't find a replacement for Edwards (although in all likelihood, they'll pick somebody up from Casa Pia or Rio Ave or somebody) he'll probably get a chance to impress again.

I doubt he would go back there anyway and I don't see Man City doing what Chelsea do

A bit like Edwards with us they can get him back at a cut down price.

That said hopefully with Rico Lewis breaking through they'd have no need for him. Chelsea is a weird one, clearly need an RWB but no solid links.

So they may lower their price in the summer, but a Jan move has to be the release clause. Nothing we didn't already know

Levy smells the potential to save money in the summer so this gets left. We miss out on UCL, have less money and Porro goes elsewhere.

In other words, sign him or miss out altogether. Lets see if we continue in our old/current ways. Hope fuck not.

If the price won't change in the summer then it's a pointless comment. The price is the release clause. If we trigger the release clause now they have to sell him.

Player interested, manager allegedly is good with him, huge position of need, established and not exactly unrealistic price. Can only see this one ending one way.

Tears.

I'm not sure how this is difficult for January given there's a perfectly realistic release clause we can trigger. I mean how much easier do we want it?

Send Emerson to Sporting on loan with obligation to buy, send Spence on loan to a prem club and have Porro and Doherty as our RWB options. That would be ideal.
The sporting CEO has just been on the phone. He wasn't interested but since you've put such a good argument forward he's now in.

Wow, if we could get Royal to go there on loan that would be ideal. Royal being Brazilian speaks Portuguese so should slot into Sporting pretty easily.
He played against them didn’t he? So they have seen him play…

We’ll end up sending them Spence since no one has seen him play.
