He has been awful in recent games. He has bags of potential but he is making terrible decisions continuously. He also scarcely easy to get to commit to ground, which will continue to cost us penalties.

KWP’s performance at newcastle has been much better than all Aurier’s so I’m not sure how he is keeping the back up spot

Why is Trippier getting rotated more than Dele/Eriksen/Sissoko? It’s baffling.

Aurier is making mistakes because he plays sporadically against vastly different styles of teams. He’s is getting used to a new league in the most unnatural way possible. I feel a bit sorry for him.

He hasn't really the only terrible game has been against Palace and West Ham...he's had sporadic moments. The home match against Dortmund he was great.

If I'm being honest this league is exactly like the French league in all ways.
I mean why should he be given time to adapt ?
Why should he be allowed to settle in ?
Why can't he be the opposite to other players.
Why isn' he instantly amazing ?
It's not like he is human after all and should be given some time to adapt to the silly petty things like speed of the game ,physicality of English football ,freezing cold nights in stoke or newcastle , new team mates ,New language,New home , etc etc.
Wanker had better shape up quick or feck off i reckon

It was sarcasm :cautious:

He'll be much better next season I'm convinced that he's just adapting to the team and the league.

But in the meantime we are 7th.
KWP would have been quicker and cheaper.
As one of our coaches and erstwhile legend recently said.
the danger is ' average players blocking our own'

Pure and utter hindsight, we don't know if KWP has the right mentality to play at this level on a consistent basis.

He played well in the only chance he's had
and we won't know his consistency
if we don't play him consistently
We knew what we were getting with Serge
I assume we did due diligence
and he has been predictably average
with liability overtones.

He is very inconsistent. He can play nice through ball, or play one-two and two seconds latter make a back pass to oponent striker. But I think he's ceiling is much higher than Trippier. Mainly because of physical abilities. He's techinque is also very good. He just has to work on his focus during the game IMO.

I don't think Aurier has been helped by a poor level of configuration in midfield. He doesn't have the blistering pace of Walker, nor has the confidence to get on his bike as soon as it looks like we have won the ball back (which Walker did, sometimes costing us as he misread the situation and we were terribly exposed).

Only had the second half on Tuesday on the radio, but as soon as Lamela came on it sounded like Aurier was much more effective and more in the game. This would come as no surprise to me, as Sissoko isn't capable of playing good through balls and making smart runs off the ball. Sissoko can do the simple, sometimes, but Aurier is not going to create something out of nothing yet so needs better play. If we improve as a team I believe we will see more from him, but right now I don't feel we are seeing quite enough (and personally would have given KWP a chance, however that comes with lots of ifs buts and maybes, and in Poch I trust)

The coaches see much more of the youth players than you do - to imply Poch is making a mistake playing Serge Aurier - famously very good right back over KWP - 1 senior appearance - is fucking dumb.

The last 20 minutes was an insight into how effective Aurier will be with the right players around him.

You don't know anything about Pochettino, do you?

But then if we hadn't bought in a replacement and KWP had struggled a bit being thrown in too soon we'd have been unhappy about that so it's a difficult balance.

When he plays he often gets paired with sissoko which is a little harsh.

Think he's decent, and will get stronger and faster over time
