And he was one of our 2 no doubt good signings from the past 2 years... That leaves us with 1, if you don't count Lucas yet, first 11 player we've added in the last 2 years. The transfer strategy has to change.

We can't depend on him, another season like last from him and we're not winning anything. Need to sign someone if we want to compete.

In terms of getting the deals done it worked really well though didn't it? Think about how quick we closed deals that summer.

Issue was the actual players signed not our ability to get the deals done. That was the fault of our scouting.

Maybe DOF is the wrong responsibility. Literally just get a negotiator or person in charge of transfers with the sole job of getting a budget from Levy and working with Poch to get players within it.

Let Levy do what he does best and run the club generally.

Deals got done easily (easier?) because they were for players no top side really wanted ?

That wanyama picture is old from 1st day pre season before injury. Although OS said he is doing gym work so hopefully it’s not to bad. But at least we are getting more detailed info on injuries.

£11million man hints at return to action at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has hinted at a possible return to action.

The Kenyan international had to return early from the club’s involvement in the International Champions Cup in the USA after fears that he could have suffered a recurrence of the knee injury which kept him sidelined for four months of last season.

Wanyama took to Instagram to post of a photo of him training along with a motivational message.

Wanyama suffered a knee injury on last summer’s US tour and, after playing in our opening two games of the season, he was ruled out for four months – only returning in January.
The 27-year-old is progressing well with gym-based rehabilitation following the injury and will hopefully be back in action sooner rather than later.
He was an absolute beast in his first season at the club following his £11million switch from Southampton and after last season’s disappointment will be looking to get his career back on track.

Not sure I’d read too much into the Instagram post it’s a training shot that could have been taken anytime and a vague positive message. But at least it appears it’s not to serious. I just worry it will be a bit of a Rose situation. In that he can play but just won’t be the same player he was.

Really hope he get back to 16/17 form as last season he was pretty average and looks as though injuries effecting him, especially as he’s missed a lot of pre-season due to further knee problems.

A fit and firing Wanyama would be like a new singing.

If he can stay fit and regain some decent from he'll be invaluable to us.

Need this monster back fit and firing for us.

Him and Dembele were absolute rocks that 16/17 season.

Forget Dembele, 45 minute player these days. Bench to come on when we're winning.

Wanyama and Winks for me

I think he should have come on on Sunday when the tide started turning against us.
I would normally agree however I remember a few games where he came on last season and he was not exactly assured. I imagine Poch is a little bit hesitant to throw him back in just yet, we will need to see him tested first. Such a shame he got injured in preseason as he may well have bene up and running by now.

Yes real shame that along with winks his playing time has been hampered by constant injuries the last couple of seasons which in turn doesn't help the team.

A fully fit Wanyama would be a huge asset to the team right now - we have really missed him.
