If they all free sign 'em all I say!

Seriously, I'm starting feel that not only is D.Comolli surplus to requirements, the whole DoF post is naff. Let's have one person, Ramos, clearly in charge and clearly responsible.

There's a few there that might have been tempting a few years ago but aren't really now. Of that lot, if I had to pick a couple, it would be Motta and Cassano.

Unless Comolli is posting in this thread, then you are asking the wrong people.. we have to accept who we are given and get on with it. All the guess work and saying who we want is pretty childish.

Oh my god you're right!!

That's it, shut the forum!! there's no point discussing anything anymore!!

Hello cozzo, this is a Football supporters site, its where we all congregate and give our opinions on who we want to see come into the team/club for next season.
From now until the closing of the transfer window, millions of football fans the world over will be acting in a "pretty childish" way, we enjoy being childish, in fact it's great!
Try it, you miserable bastard, now do you want a hug....or do you want bumming? make your mind up quick.......:hump:

Solari is worth a shot on the left wing, he still has a bit of pace, a great crosser of the ball and can shoot from distance. He could be a mentor for Bale or some of the other young ones.

I was just about to mention Davids - the team really lacks someone like edgar -
has amazing experience and leadership, having played in so called "big clubs" like milan, juventus, barcelona...not to mention he was captain of Netherlands for a short time.
A lot of people tend to think our team's major strength will shine in the FUTURE, meaning many players are very young and have great potentials. This is a fact. The team looks really nice with the likes of Modric signing and Lennon, Hutton, and Bale shining. But it is difficult for a team to function without leadership in positions.
Our situation is actually VERY similar to our biggest rival. Although Cesc Fabregas, Clichy, Walcott, blah blah blah seem all talented and great, you can just tell - by looking at the faces they are a bunch of kids who are "talented." You can tell that the leader of the team is actually monsieur wenger, not gullas. Look what they've achieved.
Sticking to topic, if Spurs were able to sign anyone from that list, i hope it would be Davids - someone with experience, willing, and a great leader.

Davids was beginning to look like a shadow of his former self in the season he left us to go and play in the 2nd rate Dutch league. He also got knocked out by Robbie Keane, there were also lots of ITK reports that most of the first team were glad to see the back of him at that point. No chance of a return I'd say.

We do sorely need leadership though...and the qualities he did bring to the team that you mention we have to address this summer, in that respect I agree 110% with you.

I seriously doubt Comolli will have a great deal to do with our first team signings this summer. Other than what I've personally been told and what ITKS have posted, it's highly unlikely that we'd pay Ramos such a high wage to come and just be 1st team coach. Also, given Ramos relationship with his previous DofF toally broke down, it's unlikely he'd come to a club where he'd not have the main say in first team transfers. Also Ramos assessment of our squad and urgent shopping in Jan must have been a huge kick in the bollocks for Comolli. We were told we have a squad capable of challenging the top 4 and Ramos seems to have come in, had a look and concluded "like fuck we do!" I think/hope we'll see more players in the Modric/Woodgate mold, than KPB/Kaboul types.

Agree with all those points Joey and so far Ramos has got off to a pretty good start - Woodgate,Modric,Hutton and Gilberto -lets hope he can keep up that level of quality or even better,in the future!

Where did you get the "completely broken down" thing from. I thought they'd disagreed on a couple of players (Capel ? for example) but I've never read that their relationship had broken down. I'm sure I've seen him quoted as saying he thought pretty highly of Monichi (is Monichi still at Sevilla ?) and that a modern coach needs a DOF.

As for the kick in the bollocks for Comoli, I'm not too sure. In an article in the guardian in August Jol talks about Dawson being his player of the season the previous year and we all know he loved Robinson and would never drop him. If Jol would have spotted what Ramos spotted instantly in the previous two years I think it's pretty safe bet that we'd be challenging Everton, Pompey etc for 4/5 th place. We have proved over the course of this season that with a slightly improved defence we are easily good enough to challenge for 4th/5th. (but not creative enough to challenge for 2/3rd)

And I think more than a kick in the bollocks, Comoli will be delighted that where attempts to sign quality players (Nani eg) often met with failure (for various reasons) in Ramos we now have a manager that quality players respect (especially having watched himturn us into a trophy winning side immediately) as Modric was quick to point out.(and Wodgate for that matter).

We should defently sign Pires if you ask me.
Tie him up to a chair, then let every Tottenham Hotspur fan have five mins alone with him.
Thats my two cents worth anyway.
And oh yeah, assuming thats Edmilson fon Barca, snap him up.

Come to that, caring enough about a game to spend your free time posting on an internet forum is not a sign of maturity. So your point was?

I concur 100% , but its an addiction I need to fight. It does nothing for my life whether some millionaire footballers win or lose. The bills still need to get paid..
