Talk of Mauricio Pochettino walking away from Tottenham anytime soon is premature.

Following Tottenham’s 1-0 pre-season victory over Real Madrid, the manager rekindled doubts over his long-term future at White Hart Lane by admitting he has no influence on and ‘knows nothing’ about the club’s transfer plans.

Sometimes I wonder if we see some of these comments with our spurs tinted glasses.

Levy has been fantastic for us but his strategy can be frustrating at times. I was expecting for the first time we sort out our transfer early, get it done and dusted. Fair play to making profit, however sometimes you need to act quick, you can't always be in the winning side. You lose some win most!!!

Even the Poch news conference is so cryptic, and unnecessary. We have been getting on with our preseason, what's the point of bringing the media spotlight on us.

What strategy?

We got Ndombele in early, Clarke in early. The only thing we can go off is ITK, who say that Betis first made us wait until they'd replaced GLC, then they've dicked us about twice on previously agreed prices.

Unless the tactic is for DL to get the boys round, I don't see how else it can change.

Compare to United - they've been waiting well over a season to sign a CB, and Maguire has been dragging for months.

Sounds like he is fed up of being made to look foolish in the press. He said before the Jan window that Janssen had no way back only to end up with him still at the club at the end of the window and then having to backtrack and reintegrate him into the squad. He also said this summer was going to be a painful one and the need to rebuild pointing towards a big overhaul of ins and outs. It has been anything but.

I doubt he would be making such strong statements without some level of established understanding between him and the club about the intended course of action so he may feel he is being mugged off hence his petulance in refusing to discuss transfers and contracts and suggestions for a role title change. All rather deflating at a time when the club is on the up and up.
