GK: Archer, Friedel
Def: Fryers, Rose, Daws, Kaboul, Vlad, Veljkovic, Walker, Naughton
Mid: Carroll, Capoue, Sandro, Ceballos, Falque, Eriksen, Holtby
Fwd: Townsend, Lamela, Lennon, Soldado, Kane

WC Break: Lloris, Verts, Dembele, Chadli, Paulinho, Bentaleb, BAE?
Adebayor sick.

I'm guessing those will be the players definitely on the tour based on training photos...Any other idea what youth players might go along?

Pritchard (was hoping he'd be first team this season but haven't seen him in training), McEvoy, Oduwa, Walker-Peters, etc?

22 players in that squad, which may be enough for Poch to assess - if you wanted a couple of extra fringe first team squad players in places where that squad has weaknesses there is Ryan Fredericks (RB) and Bongani Khumalo (CB) - and even Jonathan Obika is probably good enough to play MLS sides (rembering Simon Dawkins did pretty well in MLS).

There's a few youth, but the best of the next batch (Oduwa, Winks et al) who I expect to make an impression in a year or so's time really need game time at u21 level so I'd expect them to stay and play Spurs X1 games as with a 20+ squad already I'd doubt they would get much game time.

I wonder as well whether the returning World Cup players will join the US tour for the last match ? .

Is Chadli, or any of the later WC guys, back in training yet?

No.

Reputedly 2 weeks off after their last game - but I'd hope that Paulhino gets more after 2 years of almostcontinuous football (confederations cup last summer) he probably needs a rest to avoid having another season like last season when he was rarely looking like the player we thought he was

I am assuming that the tour party will include those players who have appeared in the training shots (not counting the day when the first team seemingly trained with the development squad). So Archer, Fredericks, Fryers, Carroll, Mason, Ceballos, Falque all in, but no sign of Miles (is he still with us?), Khumalo, Veljkovic, Pritchard, McEvoy, Coulthirst, Obika or Coulibally.

Big unknown in the CB's is whether Kaboul will regain the fitness and form of 2 years ago (and equally Sandro as a DM). I've put Fryers and Veljkovic there as I think they can play there - but realistically this season will Fryers play many PL games there ? Veljkovic I think is likely to play more EL games.

I like Dawson more for his leadership role ratheer than as a CB these days, and Chirches was out a fair bit with injuries.

So I think we probably need a CB, but I'd like to understand Kaboul's situation a bit more. And if Vertonghen is also going to help cover LB again, we certainly need more defenders - unless Poch is going to rely on Fryers & Veljkovic playing 20+ games between them.

If we sell Dawson we definitely need two centre backs in. Proper centre backs who aren't slouches, can marshall a defensive unit and aren't prone to falling asleep on the job. Surely there must be one or two players out there like that available to us?

If we sell Dawson, imo we need to buy someone who can lead the team as well as a CB - last season we had too few leaders with Kaboul anf Dawson either injured or not back to form.

I'd agree otherwise we probably need 2 CB's - but its a big risk buying 2 players for one position who require a settling in period, which is why I'd like Caulker back a one of the two. Still a bit raw, but experienced in PL and will not requiire a settling in period at Spurs - and might even provide some leadership (captain at both Cardiff and Swansea I think).

Miles still on OS and not on a news release to say he left with the others so I think he may be staying (although I'm sure he said some good byes oon twitter)i

I agree we haven't seen some of the players in the pics - but I'm not sure that the players you list are THAt noteworthy enough to be pictured - and instead we saw several youths such as Harry Voss and Cameron Carter-Vickers, so I wouldn't ebtirely discount tyhe likes of Veljkovic being on tour as otherwise I think the party could be short of players without a few extra over those pictured.

I just saw Milos in the most recent training pics. He was looking at Lamela take on Fredericks.

Clearly amazed at what Lamela is doing.

When is the 1st pre season game I know we are playing a few games in the USA but can't find out when
First one is in Seattle against the Sounders on saturday, 1 pm local time (9 pm UK). Then on to Toronto and Chicago - I think in that order.

You're welcome.

We need to send a memo to them to make sure the strings on the shorts get tucked into the shorts... Seeing a couple of stuff dangling and swing around that area isn't something i want my attension drawn too! Why cant the strings be dark blue too!
I didn't even see the strings until you pointed it out, so maybe it isn't the strings drawing your attention to that area.

I'm really interested to see what the youngsters that came along can do. I was expecting Pritchard to be the player to flourish a bit under Poch, but seeing as he's out on loan, surely one of Ceballos, Falque, Mason, Fredericks, Veljkovic, etc will play a notable role in the first team this season. Ceballos in particular is a player I think has looked impressive in the past.

I agree but I don't think we can class Falque & Mason as youngsters any more. Falque is the same age as Siggy & Chadli and Mason is only 1 year younger.

Unfortunately, im coming to the conclusion that Paulinho is the new Klebersen and Bobby the new Postiga!
