According to Wenger, WC players have to havet 4 weeks off.

"And compulsory, from FIFA, you are obliged to give four weeks' holiday to the players".

That means the following won't return to training until after the Celtic game; Lloris, Paulinho, Dembele, Verts, Chadli & Vorm.

BAE and Bentaleb should be back in training when we return from the USA.

Think we need to put a list together of the datres that France (Lloris), Brazul (Paulhino), Belgium (Dembele, Vertonghen, Chadli) and Netherlands (Vorm) played their last WC matches and than add a month on.

Off hand I think Vorm will be back about a week before the season starts....and he then has to do his preseason fitness, so it will be about 1 - 2 weeks AFTER the season starts before he's match fit.

Paulhino might just make the start of the season etc.

Here you go. Last dates they played in WC and in brackets, 4 weeks plus 1 day later (assuming their holiday starts the day after they get knocked out). Just realised Paulinho and Vorm won't be back until after the Schalke game (6 days before West Ham).

BAE 23/06 (22/07)
Bentaleb 24/06 (23/07)
Lloris 04/07 (02/08)
Dembele, Chadli & Verts 05/07 (03/08)
Paulinho 12/07 (10/08)
Vorm 12/07 (10/08)

Chicago game -27/07
Celtic - 02/08
Schalke - 09/08
West Ham - 16/08

They only have English players and that is because they were knocked out early and Man Utd and Liverpool are either not on tour or went on tour later then we did. If we had gone on tour 1 week later, we would have BAE and Bentaleb with us.

Well that is going to fuck the league after they move the Sepp Blatter memorial cup to the winter.

Interesting. Shaw, Smalling, Nani and Valencia were back with United a week ago, can the players reject it?

The players will still get 4 weeks off in the summer...

Much like the US league now. You will have noticed the likes of Yedlin and Dempsey were already back in the side.

A WC takes about 3 months.

3 weeks beforehand. 5 weeks for the tourney and then 4 weeks after.

The MLS isn't a proper league. I think we can all agree that.

Well at least we won't have to face Carroll against the Pikey's on the opening day...he's been ruled out for four months.

A good thing IMO, they're far more of a nuisance with him in the side...set pieces and shit.

Am I right in saying he's often injured?

Yeah...he apparently picked up the problem in their tour of New Zealand...

Always seemed to be fit to face us though for some reason lol

Anyway they're nowhere near as dangerous without him as the whole team functions via him knocking it down for the likes of Nolan and Downing et al

I know they've signed Valencia but this affects their whole team dynamic in terms of the way the play and train lol..good news as far as I'm concerned.

Cheers thanks for that.

If we then add 2-3 weeks onto those dates for the returning players to have their pre-season fitness regimes.....Paulhino and Vorm miss the start of the season ! And even the Belgian players are tight for the start of the season.

Hope Lloris comes back early or we could be in trouble

I wonder if the time between the end of last season and the world cup counted as part of the 4 week holiday ? If so maybe the 4 weeks after the WC reduces to say 3 weeks, which means its mainly the players from the finalists (Germany/Netherlands) who are going to really struggle to get back for the strt of the seasson.

So do I assume Seb Blatter is out to kill the European Leagues off ?

All of those players played for teams that were knocked out of the group stage. BAE would have been in the squad by now if we had gone on tour 1week later.

In Moose and Paulies cases i would give them an extra month off.I am calling it now, they will both be injured by the time september hits.

I really think you are over thinking this and therefore it makes you seem unnecessarily worried.

Maybe - but we are reacting to the news that FIFA are stipulatimng a 4 weekk holiday for the players (acknowledged by Wenger for example).

Why do you think that is unnecessary to see what that might result in ?

Do you have better info ?

yeah 15m quid on ballet dancers foot and then torn ankle ligaments...bet Gold and Sullivan didn't have these kinds of problems with their stars in their previous line of business...maybe the odd case of dripping cock, pubic lice or dry crack...but hardly enough to stop the show from going on :meh:

The 4 weeks off would be at the end of the epl season, so they would get the time off at the same time they are doing now.
