The whole thing is a joke.

Qatar were awarded the World Cup for one reason.... Money!

I am all for taking the tournament around the world to CERTAIN countries but there is absolutely no reason to have it in fucking Qatar. They are not a footballing country, shit country to go and visit for the fans. You won't be able to even have a beer! Too expensive aswell.

It's bollocks

Russia 2018 will be shit as well. Another crap country to go and visit.

After the worst World Cup in history in South Afica with those bloody plastic trumpets we have anothe 2 shit World cups to look forward to after the spectacle that will be Brazil.

2018 should of been England. It would of been great, and 2022 should be Australia.

Both great countries to visit, welcoming people, great venues. And brilliant transport links with a plethora of hotels.

Well done FIFA! You have fucked up. And instead we have very little to look forward to.

As Scudamore says, Qatar's bid claimed to be able to manage the heat effectively with cloud seeding and air-conditioning. They even mentioned a specific maximum temperature in the bid (I think like 27 degrees). If they are renaging on this then surely Fifa have the right to move it somewhere else. My guess is that they don't want to lose the money.

I'm surprised other options aren't considered such a making all the venues indoor or holding games at 3am.

FIFA won't take it away from Qatar otherwise the qataris will just leak who they bribed etc! Just my opinion but I don't believe they got it without corruption and if that's the case then the fall out from FIFA changing their mind would be huge.

Russia is actually a fascinating place to go. I mean, I have no faith that their world cup will go smoothly and I don't know how they're planning to get round the Visa thing and their social policies are archaic...but it really is a place you should visit at least once. It does have great culture going for it at least!

I think 2026 will be in England - makes logical sense

1966
1996
2026

30 year gaps between major tournaments

By 2026 it will be the only way England can guarantee being there by hosting it also :)

Oh yes of course, that other great footballing nation...

My whole problem with Russia revolves around their racism and shocking anti-gay laws. Personally think the entire wolrd should just turn away from them and say "fuck you".

I can agree with your comments regarding Russia and Qatar but don't put the 2010 world cup in that category. If your poor little bitch ears can't handle a Vuvuzela ( which happens to be apart of the soccer culture here ) for 90 mins to purely enjoy the game then you shouldn't be watching in the first place. Its more than just a noise, It adds to the atmosphere and has been apart of our soccer for longer than you've been alive.

My country went through a lot to host the world cup and to make it as safe and as enjoyable for the tourists as possible. We opened massive Stadiums across the country that had between 60-95,000 capacity and top notch security, We opened a tourist and fan Police segment just to handle cases against foreigners quicker and smoother, We opened the Gautrain to get tourists safely to the games and back in Johannesburg. We spent billions of rands that we didn't have in the first place to make it as enjoyable as possible for foreign fans like YOU. Not to benefit ourselves. We can play soccer with a ball made out of plastic bags here you think the above mentioned BS matters to us? NO. Cause down here we simply love the game for what it is. Football.

We were the first nation in Africa to host the world cup and we did a damn good job of it for first timers. So don't put South Africa down as a whole based on your personal opinion. I can remember thousands of foreign fans who insist the atmosphere wouldn't have been the same without those "bloody plastic trumpets".

So's Brazil but I wouldn't be surprised if that ended up being a terrible world cup what with all the crime and corruption and infrastructure issues.

Thats a different argument. However no one can deny that Brazil is one of the footballing countries in the world and deserve to host the tournament.

South Africa, Russia, and Qatar are terrible terrible choices.

I cannot think of one good reason for any of these countries to host the word cup. For Brazil I can. That is the difference.

I think you may have a slightly heightened sense of your importance in international football there PB34.

I don't think Qatar should have the world cup, but the reason for me isn't anything to do with whether it's a top footballing nation at all. If we took that approach we'd make it a stagnant game with no new countries coming to the party.

But Brazil is a 'footballing country' is a completely irrelevant argument if it turns out they can't organise a piss up in a brewery. I thought South Africa did a great job in hosting, and Russia probably will too. It's a commercial global event essentially, footballing history counts for zilch.

There is no need for any new countries to host the tournament. Its every 4 years!!!

I personally would only like to see the world cup held in Brazil, Argentina, England, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy. Each country would hold the tournament every 28 years!!!! Hardly stagnent.

I accept there are arguments for developing footballing countries such as USA, Japan/Korea, and Australia. So you could put these in the mix as well. That would mean each country would have it every 40 years!

No need for any other countries to host it.

Sorry but that is incredibly stupid.

Should the competition just be those seven teams every four years as well?

Also even if we accept your preposterous idea, what justification is there for England hosting the tournament considering we've only won one major tournament ever that being 37 years ago?

But what if...Oh, I don't know...they'd like to? Would we just say "no, sorry, you are not deemed worthy under my completely arbitrary terms".

Did I say it should be for those countires only? No just to host it.

As for England. We are 1 of just 8 countries to win it and we invented the game. We also have some of the best stadia in the world and as a country to visit for other fans it is one of the best in the world. Gooed enough case for Enlgand for you?

Im stupid? Im sure I will sleep at night. Thanks for your opinion though.
