Quick question regarding Adebayors loan deal; I remember Fergie pulled all of the utd players on loan at Preston after fergie jr was sacked. Am i right in thinking City can terminate the loan deal at anytime of their choosing? Fairly unlikely scenario, but if ade was on fire and we were above city in the league i would imagine city would tell ade to pack his bags asap. . .

As far as I'm aware, you can't terminate loans when both clubs are in the same league. Plus, we'd have paid a loan fee to prevent any possibility of the loan being terminated prematurely.

Chances are PNE didn't pay any loan fee for the players they had, so SAF could pull th eplug on the loans.

There will be nothing in our contract with Ade and City that they can call him back at any point.

There is no way Levy would be stupid enough to leave any clause in a contract allowing them to recall him back at any point.

Could you imagine if we we flying in the league, putting pressure on sh*tty and Ade is scoring a bucket load. Then they say actually we need him back ta.

Would never happen...

No.

But if City were desperate enough then I'm sure Levy would come to some kind of arrangement

The payment of a loan fee prevents the loaner club (Man City) from recalling the player during the term of the loan. However, if the the loanee club (us) are willing to acceptthe return of the loan fee in part or in full the Loaner club will be permitted to recall the player.

If no loan fee is paid the loaner club can recall the player at any time as not consideration has been provided.

I worked on a case where this very thing happened. Having said that I'm not sure how both teams being in the Premier League affects this issue.

i think City can add a recall clause if there isn't a loan fee involve. if there is a loan fee, then no recall clause can be added, but City can still request that Tottenham terminate the loan and allow him to return to city.

iirc, we can terminate the loan deal anytimes, for example, if he picks up an injury and will be out for the rest of the season (touchwood) then no point carrying on paying his salary.

anyway even if he returns to city, they are unable to register him, so recall also no use.

You can't even recall them... remember city with Joe Hart at Birmingham...

By the loan rules City were entitled to recall him but the FA stopped it in the interests of "spirit of the game" and so close to the end of the season.

isnt this all totally irrelevant given that city have submitted a 25 man squad to the premier league, and they can only select from this squad? Therefore if there was any possible way they COULD recall him, he wouldnt be able to play until the January transfer window?

It is very relevant because if City were able to recall him we wouldn't be able to use him and thus we would be weaker for it.

Iirc joe hart didn't want to go back and with the rose recall, bristol said for a player to go back at least two of the following three need to agree to go back: the player and either managers of the two clubs
