I've heard romours about that too.
Aren't we pretty much in the same boat as every one bar City? I don't see shifting those the manager doesn't fany as being such a problem we'll have to wait until the above event is done so we have squad replacements in first.

Nearly every team has more activity in the off season than us:

Is Sandro even 100% final yet?

The teams that have low ins and outs usually are because they are tiny squads like Villas, or broke like Newcastle.

Villa kinda nod towards the point I am getting at: A smaller squad helps the manager zoom in on the team aspect. So you get better results from familiarity because frankly, Villa players usually punch above their weight.

I'm not saying get as small as Villa! I am just saying too many cooks etc.

Look at those deals though, there is nothing to worry about there.
We operate on a different level to Aston Villa and as for WBA, Blackburn & Wolves I poo poo them.
This is not arrogance just fact.
We'll have to wait till after the WC not necessarily for us but to wait till Madrid/Milan have done their bit.

We'll have to wait till after the WC not necessarily for us but to wait till Madrid/Milan have done their bit.

Our closest rivals Man City and Arsenal haven't worried about the WC dictating their targets/outgoings so far.

It is the whole club seemingly on vacation while our rivals make their moves in the transfer market that makes me feel like we are losing ground.

Lets say if HR stays when the WC dust settles: Is HR going to be frazzled by the end of his WC punditry? He is an old manager. By the time half of you think we should worry about that aspect, will HR be on (a deserved) vacation? Then what? Lose more ground? Before you know it, HR is tied up in preseason friendlies.

PLAYERS deserve vacations in the off season. Board members and decision makers should not.

Our midfield squad is one of the biggest in the Prem. And we have the least outgoings in the Prem. That is an obvious imbalance that I think Lev and HR should be working on.

What I am worried about is the financial future of Spurs.

Our net worth will slowly decline. Because if we don't sell, that means loans, and that means more contracts being eaten up and more chance of free transfers/lower fees.

We need to sell simply because we need transfer money, we need lower wages bill and less want aways stinking up the dressing room.

Very little happens prior to July 1st, so let's just wait and see. That being said i think Taarabt and O'Hara are certs to leave, but as for Jenas and GDS, i'm not so sure.

We could do worse than having those two still at the lane next season.

We've got a sizeable squad that plays well together. We don't need to have an 'active' transfer window. In fact, it would probably be detrimental.

This has been done a thousand times already on the boards. We need a centre-forward. We could do with a centre-back if Woodie's not going to make it. Anything else is frippery.

I'd far rather Harry bides his time and lands the right players for those two positions than starts splashing cash left right and centre to bring in players we don't need.

What? Really?

We're probably in better financial shape than any other club in the league. If you don't trust Levy to know what he's doing by now, you never will.

Bloody hell...

We've already made our best signings - Bale and Modric signing new contracts.

I don't think we need any major player movement, not like the olden days of fifteen in and fourteen out.

One or two signings and I'd be contented.

Premier teams have debts that total more than all of Europe's other top divisions put together.

Just because we have less debt than Chelsea and Man Utds, does not magically mean we can ignore the large amount of debt we have.

I am good with no players in, and a few out.

I honestly think sticking with Defoe and Crouch up front, and telling them they are THE partnership: Both will raise their game from two aspects:

1: Familiarity
2: It's good to have the backing of the guv. (Defoe is already complaining about Harry dropping him all the time.)

Signing a marquee player IMO will cause more Ramos style disruption.

The transfer window isn't open yet. Besides, i'd rather have too many players than too few.

I can't imagine that Harry is sleeping while the transfer window is open, he's in his element. We need to sell those who really want out or won't play a part and just one or two acquisitions are required.

No need to worry at the moment though getting our squad together as early as possible to train together is favourable.

I'm just surprised we have yet to strike an agreement for a single player leaving yet.

Don't get me wrong, I don't even want us to sign a marquee player. I am just wondering will we be stuck with a bus load of fringe midfielders eating up our managers resources and wage bill.

Look at them all:

------GDS--------Taarabt ------
Modric---Sandro---Palacios---Lennon
Kranj-- Hudd---O Hara----Bentley
-------------Jenas----------------

Bench:
Rose, Parret, Livermore, Bostock

It is complete waste of talent. We have no reserve league.

There's a little thing called the World Cup going on where I'd imagine the majority of managers are at scouting, or at very least watching at home.

People will wait to see what moves are made after the tournament, then we'll start seeing activity.

We're not the only club to have been quiet so far, in fact there has been hardly anything done yet in the Prem so chill out, sit back and enjoy the inevitable ride of our revolving doors when it comes!

fair point gibbs :) - we are overloaded in the mid dept and you missed out a regular in Bale :)

yes i know he can play LB too - but recently was playing LM

if we can sort the wages out i wouldn't mind cole in and three out of gds taraabt o'hara bentley and jj out

but good luck to levy and harry in sorting it all out

for sure tho i think we need another striker, and someone for the left side be it defender or mid

You never know deals could be going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Transfers take time and often involve months of planning. I'm just glad the WC is on so we aren't relying on made up tabloid transfer gossip to get us through the summer!

I'm just surprised we have yet to strike an agreement for a single player leaving yet.

From the little list of INS and OUTS you posted the majority of OUTS were players who have been RELEASED by their clubs.

That is not transfer activity. Are you so eager to see some actiity that you are proposing the club lets the likes of GDS, O'Hara and Taraabt leave for nothing?
