My only hope for Pav is that we give up trying to make him into a footballer, and encourage him to be a greedy bastard and shoot on sight. That way maybe we could turn him into a great impact sub. Make him Spurs' version of Ole Gunnar.

If we were to sign Falcao, I actually believe I'd genuinely weep with joy. All year long I've wanted us to make a summer bid for Falcao and Marin to turn us into true title contenders and it hurts to see us linked heavily with both players only for us to almost certainly sign neither of them.

Dispiritingly, it's true both that this is a reasonable idea and that Pav's link up play and crossing are leagues ahead of Defoe and Crouch.

Falcao's youtube videos are so-so, but his scoring record for Porto is immense
He'll be too expensive, won't want to leave for us and could well replace anelka / drogba next year and get to play in the CL so he's probably a non-starter.

Think of two strikers we've been linked to recently, one old with flowing blonde locks and one younger who has just gone to manchester. We liked them both, but what is one main reason we were prevented from pursuing further? They're on astonishing wages at Atletico... Falcao could probably earn twice as much there than we can pay (not sure how but there you go...)
