I’m very curious to see how fans react to us spending the Kane money on defenders which we should have bought already rather than a top class attacker.
Richarlison, while no Kane, would start at many/most of the clubs below us. That’s not true of any of our current LCBs.

If we have to choose, I’d be happier with a class CB and a young talent in attack that we spend a season or two polishing, than the other way around.

I would take 1 quality forward and 1 quality center back over 2 quality CBs though. Not sure this guy will be affordable in that mix but this guy and say Tapsoba would do for me. Add a cheap centre back for cover rather than a cheap forward.

To be fair everyone raves about Liverpool spending the Coutinho money on Alisson and Van Dijk. They absolutely could not have afforded both otherwise, and it built their best team in 30 years.

If selling Kane allows us to afford Tapsoba where we couldn't before, that's no reason to complain.

You do realise the football we’re going to play this season we’ll probably score enough goals without Kane. But without decent, quick CB’s we’re going to struggle!

I want two top CB’s and I’d even take Richy upfront if it meant that happening!

Yeah I agree with this. We're not even in Europe and CBs don't rotate much. Would prefer us to splash out big on one really top quality CB and get someone cheaper like Tosin as backup, then use the rest of the money to get an absolutely class forward.

I might be in the minority but I would be extremely happy with Muani and Tapsoba.

Muani has enough potential where I'd be excited and think between him, son, Richy, Kulu, and Solomon there'd be enough goals to go around.

I'll reserve judgement until end of window as always but going to be a tense few weeks nonetheless..

I don't know how to quote replies but H88 just posted this in the Kane thread:

There has been a sense of inevitability that he was leaving for a short while now and it seems this meeting tomorrow will likely confirm that. The name I was given for his replacement was Muani so let's see if the club actually really push for him and make it happen. I don't trust Levy post Kane either but surely he has to target the likes of Tapsoba and Muani otherwise there might be riots.

I just don’t have any faith that we could get both those deals done, they’ll each be difficult and require us to “overpay” (and in Muani’s case possibly compete with PSG on wages) and between the two it may cost more than the entire Kane fee. I can maybe see one or the other but not both…

Would love that but just can’t see it. Don’t believe ENIC have any interest in spending that sort of money.

Muani is available for 85 million euros apparently.

Kanes money would pay for him, and him only. The fact we’re not looking like getting a cb in is the worry. No reason for us not to of sorted the defence out by now and sort the striker issue out as and when it happens. Won’t be this guy at this kind of money unfortunately. He looks full of energy and excitement.
