Lloris 3- after some stellar work last season, he's now looking like a mess. Why in gods name does he come for everything?
Walker 4- The only one in our team that looked like a proffessional footballer.
Dawson 2- The man is finished. Look, I'm confident Harry could use him, how about we send him on loan before he costs us any more points?
Capoue 2- not a defender and it showed. He was all over the place, simply couldn't tell his arse from his elbow.
Naughton 0.5- took it from behind
Dembele 2- hopeless midfield work. After all these years e still isn't much of a passer. His protection of the ball is getting worse with each game.
Sandro 2- inept.
Paulinho 2- how we managed to find a brazilian midfielder who's not actually good at anything is beyond me. Baldini must go!
Lennon 1.5- same old shit, just a different day. Guy should be at the olympics not on a footy pitch.
Chadli 2- don't understand his game at all.

Soldado 1- won't be happy till he's a sold Ado.

the subs had no effect on the game.

That was a team of 11 strangers with absolutely no cohesion and without the slighest idea of what they were supposed to do.
Say what you like about the players we bought but for me,90% of our problems is simple coaching.
That was shocking today and I have witnessed better organisation from Pub teams.

Only Walker, Soldado and Chadli are worthy of any points.

This pretty much although not sure what exactly Hugo did wrong

Biggest culprit today would have to be Paulinho. You can accept a player being crap (just!) but for a quality footballer to not really be bothered and hardly run around is not acceptable

He shouldn't have come out 2nd half and Dembele wasn't that much better. For those 2 to be bossed by Allen & Henderson is a fucking disgrace

It does not get any worse than today. A truly disgraceful display, literally 75% of the team didn't turn up. Couldn't believe what I was watching

Strangers in the night. That's what we looked like, da da da da da…...

This was the perfect (shit) storm for Liverpool. They were outstanding while we were like a bunch of ugly novices at a swingers club watching as our pretty wives get rodgered senseless by orange tanned regulars with Curtis Steiger hair, covered in viagra vapour rub.

Fair play to Liverpool, they were better in every way, and this game was over before the sending off.

Lets get the minimal mitigation out the way. Yes we have injuries to a shitload of defenders, and over the course of the season other important players too like Eriksen, Capoue, Sandro and this makeshift defence and Sandro going out of the game early on clearly did not help. Nor did Paulinho's fuckwitted sending off.

But this is a very small part of what was wrong today and the worrying thing is that in response to difficulty AVB has a really bad habit of compounding or worsening the problems with his team selections and tactical deployment of those selections.

I have defended certain facets of AVB's coaching, but I have continually criticised some of these personnel deployments and tactical implementation. Today there is nothing to defend. He's given me no crumbs to work with. Team selections were wrong, tactics were wrong, but worse, we didn't work hard enough, we didn't press hard enough, our movement was piss poor and so was our passing.

I said a couple of weeks ago (after the ManU game I think) that AVB has got to decide how he wants us to play (which I thought he had) and start marrying the team selections and tactics to that choice (which he think he has struggled with in varying degrees all season - though not always his fault to be fair). Today was yet another example of this going awry.

I have just watched MOTD and see AVB has said he got the formation and tactics wrong. What I don't get, and I'm not being a wiseacre here, is in the match thread earlier I said that Liverpool will play a cm3 and it worried me that we would get outplayed in midfield if we played our usual cm2.

Now, it really didn't take much thinking about to figure that out (I think most of us could have picked that Liverpool team) and that playing with a CM2, one of whom had had 60 mins on thursday and pushing Paulinho into the "spare prick" position was going to leave us struggling in midfield and certainly outnumbered.

This was exactly what I feared would happen. But why didn't this occur to AVB ? Or if it did why did he set us up the same way yet again.

This was my biggest (all right second biggest after him being a ****) criticism of Redknapp, he had the tools at his disposal, he'd seen us play great in a 433 but continually rejected it and we ended up fucking up great situations and getting stuffed 5 by Chelsea in a semi.

Is the mystical "THEY" whispering in AVB's ear too ?

You wouldn't think it was possible to make things worse but AVB managed it royally today. Sandro was forced on him and Paulinho back into the CM2 with Holtby ahead of them wasn't terrible, but why didn't he rectify the midfield imbalance when he could see what was going wrong ? Instead his substations just went from banal to ridiculous.

Making the odd poor selection or getting your tactics wrong is not great but unforgivable to me is that we were out worked, out pressed and out passed today. We were simply outplayed. Not acceptable. There are people that keep telling me pressing and possession don't matter, but that is how Liverpool got the better of us today. They pressed much better than us and had more ball than us, and when the had it they did better things with it.

The Naughton LB thing is getting fucking tedious. Playing (ho hum) RB's as left backs, especially when they've not looked good before and you have a LB (or at least someone who is a left sided defender who has played his development years as a LB) is just daft.

Today I guess AVB had no choice but to play Dawson, but that hasn't been an excuse all season. If he wants us to be a high line, high tempo press and pass team then he's the wrong option (let's face it, he's the wrong option no matter what the fucking tactics in this league).

Dembele had one of those games where he wanted to take 15 touches every fucking time he had the ball, Liverpool sussed this out quickly and just kept pressing the ball out of him. Paulinho was like a disembodied extra from a 1950's B movie, then stupidly got himself sent off. Hopefully this will spare us AVB using him incorrectly for a couple of games at least. The bad news is that we have now lost him and Sandro as CM options for at least three games.

This game was a footballing dystopian nightmare the likes of which my (reasonably furtive) imagination couldn't even have (nightmare) dreamt.

Individual stuff

Lloris - adimdst some iffy moments he made some great saves.

Walker - Without doubt the least worst of our defenders and players in general.

I can't be fucked to do anyone else, no-one came out of this game with much credit.

It's no exaggeration to say that it could easily have been 10-0!

Crossbar, post, Suarez clean through another 2 or 3 times, Lloris miraculous save early from Naughton deflection and God knows how many other chances we gave up!

Easily... the very worst team performance I Have seen in 30 years of supporting the team. only walker gets a five. majority were fours and threes. Special mention for naughton,,daws and Pauline... all were twos. They should be ashamed of themselves as professionals. No pride. No commitment. No brains.

We played better in the man city game.

I'm still speechless, sort of.
