Bring on the neg reps because I really didn't see anything from Lamela today other than his pass to Kane. We beat a poor team while playing badly.

I actually think Eriksen had a great game and provided really important work for our goals. He barely lost the ball and worked quietly hard as per usual.

Dier was immense again defensively and overall, we didnt quite sparkle at any time but it was still another fine performance when taking this project into consideration.

Now to get into ruthless mode for Le Arse

these polls are getting hijacked by the lamela fan club in the same way ssn polls get taken over by arsenal fans. he had a really strong final 15 minutes and was our best player in the closing stages but hello, games are 90 minutes. first half he was nowhere. i'm going to slightly contradict myself by saying i thought dembele was motm despite him only playing 70 minutes but he was influential over the entirety of that time and we dropped off when he was subbed.

I think people would sway towards him as MOTM purely because we could have easily capitulated in the last 15 minutes, until he decided to take control by slowing things down. Had we not been forced to panic, I think he'd have received far fewer votes.

Dembele is our best football player and I'm glad after a few years we have finally found a way for him to shine

I felt this was fairly standard from us, and we need to strive to be a bit more 'ruthless' and switched on. We have a comfortable first half, with a passive poor opposition, and get our noses in front and at half time all looks good. Second half though the opposition have had a kick up the backside and decide to venture out of their own half and go down fighting, and show some urgency with and without the ball, and we seem to invite pressure upon ourselves. We seem unable to lift ourselves, continuing to play in 2nd gear, not increasing the tempo especially when circulating the ball, and so we then find players getting in to trouble and the opposition gaining confidence and a foothold in the game.

There was a twenty minute spell there where we lost all composure, people stop wanting the ball (particularly in the centre of the park) and no one to put a foot on it and conduct the play. It was disappointing to see us just lumping the ball up the pitch frantically. We saw at the end a lovely goal where we did move the ball and open them up, it was lacking for half hour prior to that.

Yes we won, but I'd like to see us manage games a bit better. That could have been another Stoke...

10 unbeaten, and we have good momentum in the league, but even with victory we can learn and use it to improve.

Lloris - A couple of errors that could have been punished. Not his best game.

Walker - Decent enough game.

Alderweireld - Ditto.

Vertonghen - As above.

Rose - Very good first half. Often set the tone for our pressing game nipping in and intercepting or just muscling someone off the ball. Didn't reach those heights in the second half but overall a good game. Needs to sort that final ball though!

Dier - For an hour he was very good, when we were under the cosh I'm going to do my best Bus-Conductor impression and say I felt he went missing a bit, especially as an outlet for the ball.

Alli - Very nice finish for his goal. Did well but when we are on the back foot I think he is someone who lacks composure at times and his inexperience shows in the choices he makes with the ball.

Dembele - Started well, good goal, faded out of the game.

Lamela - The opposite. Started very slowly, his first half was very forgettable, however he as much as anyone in the last 15 minutes or so did try to wrench the game back for us by working hard and getting hold of the ball. Had a part in the last goal.

Eriksen - Decent first half, especially with his pressing and work rate, second half not quite as good and I wanted to see him on the ball more. Also had a part in the 3rd goal though.

Kane - Ok but at times felt he could have competed a bit more and needed him to get hold of it and act as a focal point. Very nice finish for his goal though.

Subs:

Mason - Some fault for the goal conceded. Didn't really get into the game.
Davies - Played his part in our 3rd goal.
Onomah - Did alright whenever he got the ball.

How has Rose got 6 votes, he was so average as usual, Lamela , Vertonghen, Dembele, Walker & Dier the stand out performers
The Neggers out in full force but won't say why they disagree.. maybe his outstandingly consistant crossing.. no if one in 6 go where ther meant to maybe.. Maybe it's his going off his feet consistently in the tackle, always a card waiting to happen, maybe it's his brilliant passing.. well it definitely isn't that. Maybe it's they should of gone to Specsavers.. that must be it.
If been an athlete warrants praise then the game is fooked

I thought He was very subtle in a lot of his play today. I don't think he was fantastic, and I was torn between Dembele and Lamela, but just for the way he controlled the end and put it out of sight he gets it for me.

I don't think we can't really give MOM to Dier because of the terrible pass that almost led to Villa's goal if it wasn't for Vertongen's last ditch tackle. It was a worse mistake than Mason made and could've have been a costly one.

I'll say Lamela or walker deserve MOM.

I thought Walker was quite composed tonight. That one pass he made along the sideline under huge pressure from two villa players were a class. Previously he would've just kicked it away or back pass into a disaster. Big kudos to him.

Totally agree about Walker. He has been class recently and was excellent again tonight.

*crosses fingers*

He really does seem to have cut out the silly mistakes and is focussing more on improving his defensive skills and getting the basics right.

Best laugh, the half-time Gary Neville Agbonlahor touches comment and he didn't even mean it.
