Only player I was disappointed with last night was Modders. Thought he was awful for the first hour, then gained influence. Hudd did an important job though lost his cool and could have been sent off.

Defoe was quiet too, but when he had his chance he did as well as I could expect.

Gomes - 8
Kaboul - 8
King - 9
Dawson - 8
Benny - 7
Lennon - 6
Modders - 5.5
Hudd - 7
Bale - 7.5
Crouch - 8
Defoe - 6

Pav - 7
Bentley - 7
Wilson - 6

He worked extremely hard and was actually very effective defensively. We had very little possession in the first 20 minutes. Our game plan seemed to be to by-pass midfield and try and find Crouch, which wasn't pretty, but very effective.

After Barry went off on 57 minutes and was replaced by Viera, we had much more possession and Modric natural game came into play. I thought he had a very good game from start to when he came off.

 You just don't get it do you? That's the fucking problem. You defend your opinion no matter what and nothing will change it. It's as if you have no ability to recognise when you're just plain wrong or your simply to proud to admit it. It seems as if you can't see what you're like. The day after we qualify for the CL, having played the majority of the season with Huddlestone in a 442, you repeat the same old bollocks you'd been repeating all season long. It's as if the reality of what actually happens on the football field has absolutely no effect on your opinion. It makes having any debate with you totally pointless.

What bollocks is that exactly ? He gives the ball away more than any other CM we have. It's a fact.

Don't really want to get involved in the beef you two are having, but regarding Dawson, I think you could at least say that your reading of him has at least changed. Your criticisms were harsh, and not admitting you were wrong, just seems petty.

The fact is, he has been the mainstay of our defense in a season where we have the 4th lowest goals conceded in the league, the reason we have achieved CL football. Yes, he still makes mistakes, as does everyone, King losing Toure twice at corners yesterday for instance.

I tell you what, go and find the most offensive thing I've said about Dawson this year.

Or go and compare the comments I've made about Dawson in ratings with those I've made about every other player.

For the record I can remember the last time I called Dawson shit, or even a bad player. But hey, don't let that spoil your misconception.

How exactly me saying Huddlestone is a good player but I don't see how he's better than Palacios any different to you saying that Palacios is good but only of second tier importance.

To this day you still wouldn't admit that Kanoute was better in every way than Mido for us as a team. Not out of any logic except that it would mean Jol fucked up. You are a hypocrite who talks bollocks.

I didn't say you said anything offensive about him, but you have continually argued that he makes too many mistakes, and most recently as the United match (I believe it was this match) you were arguing that Bassong should start with King. If you say that that you have rated him, and always have, fair enough.

He is a bit of a hypocrite when he attacks you for posting stats on Hud. Joey has been CAPTAIN stat in the past.

I am a little bit torn this morning: I said before the win if Modric and Hud play great and we win I will forever shut up about them. The trouble is we won, but Modric and Hud had average games. I will shut up about them anyway. I am slowly coming to the opinion that I prefer 4 European class players in the CM slot:

Hud, Modric, JJ and Palacios

Rather than sacrificing 2 or 3 of them to get one world class goalscoring/assist grabbing CM superstar.

When you think about it, depth in our midfielders played a HUGE part in our consistency. Take that world class CM player out of Arsenal or Liverpool and they struggle to come up with answers.

Looks like you are a level 3.

Xposter
1: Xposter disagrees with a Gibbs131 opinion
2: Xposter and Gibbs go back and forth debating
3: Throw in a ref or two from other threads to derail an argument (I think Steed has eclysped the Hughton now for Gibbs refs). EG: I say I think Pav is average, someone will mention Steed.
4: Post "worst post/thread/poster" somewhere in my thread (even though they will tune in to every..single..thread I start) Level 4ers tend to come in packs, and try and tag team ole Gibbsy.
5: Cross thread chasing. We crossed paths on another thread and Xposter
has an axe to grind. So a new thread I start is basically a free for all of old butthurt crew from different eras: Hughton, Spice Boy, Modric etc.
6: Xposter really goes out of his way to zoom in on a X comment not related to the thread, so it goes off in an "NO way is X a blah blah blah" tangent because they don't have much left re the original debate. One awesome one was how a thread turned into a what EXACTLY does certain Barca midfielders do as individuals. I mean exactly...AM DM etc were not good enough...we are talking micro analyzing traits within traits lol.
7: Xposter realized ole Gibbsy will never, ever admit he is wrong, get a little more civil, laugh it off and have a jibe now and then.

Don't really think it is right to grade players last night...they were all excellent, and I spent most of the match jumping up and down or hiding behind my hands anyway:grin:

Voted Ledders MOM, a colossus:clap:

Special mention should, however, go to Kaboul, who wasn't even playing in his proper position:clap:

What a game what a feeling what a result.. very proud of Tottenham Hotspur.

Every player deserve praise even Defoe, took his time getting up to speed with the rest but put in a good shift at the end.

Special mention to Ledley King, what a player! IMO the best defender in the world.

Dawson has been fantastic (I've been critical of him in the past) deserve a world cup place along with Huddlestone.

Thought Huddlestone(bully boy) Gomes Kaboul Assou-Ekotto were Superb.

Crouch although missed more chances than Andrew Cole was great holding up play scoring the vital goal, Brilliant.

Modric Bale Lennon, Bentley Excellent.
