Winks looks a proper player. I swear before his injury he didn't make those darting runs from deep. He always seems to take the opposition by surprise with his directness and catches them off guard. He also looks much quicker than I remember. Great technique, good range of passing and tenacious. He does get bulled a little sometimes but I think he more than makes up for it with everything else.

We're really bloody lucky to have him come through as that's exactly the kind of performance we would've wanted from the hypothetical shiny £50 million midfielder we were all praying for in the summer.

Anyway, I voted Sanchez as I thought he was imperious. Sissoko did great but I couldn't him give him MOTM as he still made about 5 comically bad mistakes.

Pleased for Sissoko tonight - good performance. Winks looked great when he came on. Kane unlucky to be flagged offside in the 2nd half when he was played onside by Mendy - didn't seem to get much attention on commentary.....he was through one on one!! I'm really looking forward to the day when we can have Aurier and Rose in the team to provide some dynamism and threat from those positions. tripps and Davies feel a bit stale at the moment. Lamela tried hard (as always) but it didn't quite work for him tonight. Could've had a point when we upped our game towards the end.

I get knocked for not being thrilled when Sissoko has a good game by his standards but an average one by normal standards. But last night, bar a couple hilariously bad moments, I thought he was genuinely good. Actually made some tackles and just looked so much more confident with the ball.

The frustration is less with his technical ability, which is what it is, for me it's more about how he hides. Last night he seemed to want the ball and do something with it. Long may that continue.

Birdie: Sissoko MOTM, Lamela, Winks, Sanchez, Dele
Par: Toby, Kane, Lucas, Lloris, Dier, Davies
Bogey: Trippier
Double bogey: Dembele

Eriksen didn't get enough time, looked promising but let himself down with two awful corners.

By and large we played a decent game and made it a good contest. Trippier's two mistakes in six seconds end up costing us the game. I do also question why Lloris didn't appear to know where his near post was and left the goal completely open, he shouldn't move beyond the post in that situation, but ultimately I think Mahrez scores that regardless.

Trippier got better but I don't like the way he's been playing the last month or so, and Dembele had another of those games where you really think he will be sent to the glue factory sooner rather than later. He cannot be a starter for us if Winks is now fully fit.

Sissoko was really good off the ball, a solid defensive shift, and was good enough on the ball bar a couple of classic moments to deserve MOTM. But I struggle to understand how an experienced PL footballer can so consistently make the wrong decisions in the final third.

This game was all about Sissoko - MOTM and epitomised our performance on the whole, both good and bad. Great energy and application of the tactical plan, but erratic, short on quality and wasteful at the same time. Almost enough to nick a draw on endeavour alone however.

Glad to see love for Sanchez in here, the kind of performance that reminds me of his huge potential. Used his physical attributes superbly to snuff out dangerous players in dangerous positions, so calmly at times that people may not even notice what he did. Toby looked a little ropey at times I thought but to be fair to him he's on his less preferred side.

Winks stood out massively when he come on - class. Time for Dembele to pass him the torch.

Full backs continue to get exposed at the top level, Poch's coaching here has its limits.

1st Half - Our self destruct button continues to be pressed with Trippier the guilty party. Although you could argue that the blame could be laid at Poch's feet for picking him ahead of Aurier, the current popular choice. Kevin Friend the ref was definitely not our friend in this half.

2nd Half - A much better half where I saw the glimpses of the "old Tottenham" of two seasons ago especially in the last 25 minutes or so. We may have lost this game but it wasnt the walk over as most predicted, and I personally feel more encouraged for the rest of the campaign.

Just to give the Sissoko haters something to moan about, I am giving him MOTM, with Lamela, Winks, Dele and Toby as close contenders

Agree with the Trippier/Poch assessment. But Davies deserves blame too. If you watch the replay, he had 7 yards on Mahrez and was jogging when the ball was sent over the top. He failed to recognize that Mahrez could get position on him and when Mahrez blew by, he didn't catch up. If Davies beats him into the space forcing Mahrez to adjust his run, there is no way that Mahrez gets to the ball where he did. He may have adjusted his run and still scored, but Davies was mentally lazy at the moment and that was a second major error. In watching the replay from the camera behind the goal, it looks like Sterling gets the tiniest of pushes on Trippier on the initial header. Had he posted up a little further behind the ball and gone towards it, the nudge wouldn't have affected him.

I agree with you slightly. I mean I'd suck cock for 8.5m a year but Poch is ambitious and I can appreciate his frustration. The one thing that will continuously be aimed at him is that he hasn't won anything but how can he when ie isn't given the tools.
Wasn't there a Robert Redford film about this?

Star performance last night at half time after enjoying Club Wembley a bit too much. While being interviewed live on the big screen he recalled how Hoddle once told him to ‘give me the fucking ball’. Paul Coyte almost died.

Lamela has offered something this season and been one of our better players. I used that comment only in relation to the players for whom Pochettino is blind to their constant ineptitude.
Ok dude. No need to explain yourself. I was just toying with you ?

Disappointing performance I thought.. City were the better side from the start. Our team selection was wrong. How he can leave , eriksen, wink, son and even Ali( who I don't overly rate). Demeble and dier in the middle was a bad idea. Both slow and both give it away far too cheaply. We was nervous from the start. Letting them have time and space. Did we even have a midfield?

We did have chances to get into this some how, mendy had a bit of a shocker and Walker is a lucky boy to be in that squad he was rubbish. Kane had one of the worst performances I've seen. We had chances to get back into this and we didnt.

When he brought winks on it changed the game and I actually thought we looked better.

City had the chances to kill the game off. In the end it was good we only kept it to 1.0 but disappointing as we didn't look up for it we, hardly pressed them at all. We could of got a draw if Kane was on form and sissisoke could pass a simple ball oh and trippier.no comment.

Lloris really poor kicking. Bad form. Remember a couple of good saves tho.

Trippier. Really poor game. Had a chance to score aswell and he didn't shoot when he should of . Poor

Sanchez actually thought he played decent.

Toby again don't remember him doing much wrong

Davies also was poor for the goal lost his man I think???

Dier poor game not good enough as a cm2 with demeble

Demeble very poor game , gave it away. Some silly fouls if I remember correctly, should of come of earlier.

Moura poor, he tried from the start but just kept getting caught, his skill was not good enough , you can tell he's got something but needs to be much better

Lamela , a bit of everything , some magic as always. A lovely ball to Kane who should of scored , actually only one that really pressed. Ref was a joke he made some good strong challenge's. Should of scored! Still our best player at the moment.

Sissoko ok, he tried hard , he made some great runs but again the simple stuff he fucked up? How can he not play a simple ball? If he could we could of got something from this game? He really tried and he did do some good things but is just not a good enough player to change the game. Some silly touches aswell and generally makes things hard for himself.

Kane rubbish tonight. His touch was so bad for that chance think he had one good shot. Forgot he was on there.

Now I know I wanted eriksen on the pitch , from the start but there was no point of bringing him on so late on, ? Should of either started him made the sub at ht or brought son on as I felt son probably would have more chance to score.

Bad team selection, bad subs, a game we could of got something out even if we didn't play that well.

thought Dembele put in one of his worst shifts in ages. If we dont sign a CM in January Im not sure we will have the horses down the stretch.

I thought team selection from what we had was ok bar Trippier, Eriksen Alli etc weren't 100% and coming back from injuries, it was however very interesting we finished with our strongest team injuries permitting.

In my mind this season is transition ie I feel we are seeing the last of some players and others ie Winks will be main stayers

Nothing against Sissoko personally, but when he gets motm, you know we aint have not played great, cos because when all our players play to there their ability he wouldn't be that prevalent
When you say "nothing against Sissoko personally" suggests it is personal to you. You just refuse to admit that he is or can be much better than most like you with your obvious bias, give him credit for. The man did well and had it been Dier or Dembele who had performed like that instead of Sissoko, they too would have been given MOTM.

Easily Sissoko. Just such a pity he couldnt pick out someone in the first half but he deserves a run in the team now.

As does Winks, who did really well when he came on. Progressive passing, surging forward and really competitive in the tackle. Its time for this lad to run our midfield, we need a new engine and this kid is it. Must start most games now.

Sanchez was also very good.

Overall we played well, a big improvement on past league performances this season. Have to cut out the individual errors at the back and of course work on being more ruthless by taking more chances.

We deserved a draw from that, but I'm certainly encouraged.

Winks and Sissoko should get a run now. Dembele has been tremendous for so long but he looked like he was running in cement out there tonight and the difference was startling when Winks came on. Should be used as an option to close games out.

Sissoko obviously lacks technical ability and composure but he still offers more than Dier and Dembele, the way they have been playing, like he did tonight.

Time for Pochettino to make some changes to his first team, and Tripps in the bigger games is a no no. Its alright when we're dominating, his attacking qualities are a great asset but in closer games he gets exposed over and over again.

Time for Poch to mix it up.
I wish I could "winner" this more than once!

I am saying when everyone plays to the top of there ability, Sissoko would not ever be considered for a motm, as other players qualities outshine his limited footballing ability. Nothing against him, as on Monday he was the only one who showed up and played to his best.
