Lloris. 6. Another brain fart
Trippier 4 Another brain fart
Sanchez 7 - very good
Toby 7 - very good
Davies - at least 10 better left backs In this league.
Dier 5 - way too deep. Just gifted them space to play in the middle
Dembele 5 - fallen idol. Must be looking over his shoulder at Winks
Lamela 6 - always busy. Should have scored
Moura 7 not many outpace Walker. He kept going.
Sissoko 2.0. (Not his score for once) 8 - on it from the off. Yes made two mistakes with the ball. But so did Kane and he doesn’t get the same shit. Give the guy a chance now people. Come on.
Kane 6- worked off scraps. Held the ball
Up well. Should have scored.

Winks 7 - iniesta incarnate
Dele 6 - looked done after 2 minutes. Good setup though.
Eriksen 5 - I don’t like Eriksen corners

Consider that the player I voted for man of the match did the following:

• supremely smashed a power-pass directly out of play to concede a corner
• bounced one off his standing leg when attempting to play a simple first-time pass
• fluffed a straightforward pass in the box when 3 players were in support

Sissoko was genuinely excellent, and two of the three bullet points above make me appreciate his performance even more

Lamela was good but spurned our best chance.

Kane was, well, post-Colombia Harry Kane.

Winks put in driving performances like this before his injury and it’s great to see him nearing his best.
We are quite frustrating to watch in the middle these days; almost as if everyone’s instinct is to turn back to their own goal to play it to Lloris or, if they’re feeling really ambitious, a sideways pass. Winks is the opposite of this and we are much the better for it.

Don't usually vote for a sub
but Winks(8+) was a class above
My MOM.but must start
Lamela(7+) but should have scored.
Sissoko(6+) good again in his own strange way
Sanchez and Toby solid((7+)
but so slow to move the ball forward.
Dembele awful as were the full backs (5+)
Dier ghosted through this one(5) as did Kane(6)
Lloris teetering on the edge(6)
Moura all motion no sense(6)

City were poor but we gave them the goal
and that was the difference.

Terribly turgid starting midfield.

Sissoko- give him the ball and run, strong and powerful scares opposition- played well , still a lottery with the final ball.

Winks - did well when he came on.

Hopefully with the injuries starting to clear up we’ll start to push on.

Sissoko - MOM

Hugo 6 - didn't really have that much to do credit to ourselves, saved all their tame efforts. Couldn't do anything about their goal...one mistake again but didn't cost us

Sanchez 8
Toby 8 both solid, city struggled to cut us to ribbons as they do

Davies 5 - definition of average
Trippier 2 -average and off form too, so poor for their goal. Watch the reply it's not just poor but there's little effort like he couldn't be arsed

Dier 6- he a Sissoko really sucked up all the gaps, really made it difficult for silva
Sissoko 7- a few bad plays but he was doing a job defensively and his pacey transitions to attack gave city problems, shame he doesn't have a pass on him

Lamela 6 - sometimes our best player and sometimes our worse tonight. Shouldve scored

Kane 4 - few nice passes but pretty bad, shouldve scored

Moura 4 - bad

Subs
Winks 8
Dele 6
Erisken NET

Edit: I forgot about Dembele... Sums it up

Sissoko stood out - I think the pitch helped him.
But I thought Sanchez was motm. Manc were 4 goals better than us so we must have been doing something right defensively to keep it to one. His best game of the season imo.

Lloris - 5, yet again another mistake.
Trippier - 2, Genuinely terrible. we have two better right backs than him, and it's about time we start playing them
Sanchez - 7, good. One dodgy moment with Aguero, but solid otherwise
Toby - 6.5, Thought Sanchez was better today, but Toby was relatively solid too.
Davies - 5, Didn't do much wrong, or right. Which is an improvement.
Dier - 6.5, I'm a very harsh Dier critic but he did his job well today.
Dembele - 3, If I have to watch him pass it sideways after beating a man one more time I'm going to lose my mind. Time to go, Moose.
Sissoko - 9, MOTM. He was everywhere, doing everything today. If he did better with the chance in the first half he would've been a 10/10. Well done.
Lamela - 4, Worked hard but kept running into defenders under little pressure. That miss at the end was indefensible.
Lucas - 5, not his game but worked hard.
Kane - 6, messed up bad in the first half with that chance but improved a lot in the second, great hold up play.

SUBS -
Eriksen - NET
Dele - 7, looked great. We, and Harry, clearly have missed him
Winks - 8, Personally believe if he starts the game instead of Dembele we get a point, maybe 3. Terrific cameo.

A relatively good performance undone by a bad miss and a calamitous piece of defending from Trippier. Poch's selection of him is now not only holding us back, it's now officially costing us points.

Easily Sissoko. Just such a pity he couldnt pick out someone in the first half but he deserves a run in the team now.

As does Winks, who did really well when he came on. Progressive passing, surging forward and really competitive in the tackle. Its time for this lad to run our midfield, we need a new engine and this kid is it. Must start most games now.

Sanchez was also very good.

Overall we played well, a big improvement on past league performances this season. Have to cut out the individual errors at the back and of course work on being more ruthless by taking more chances.

We deserved a draw from that, but I'm certainly encouraged.

Winks and Sissoko should get a run now. Dembele has been tremendous for so long but he looked like he was running in cement out there tonight and the difference was startling when Winks came on. Should be used as an option to close games out.

Sissoko obviously lacks technical ability and composure but he still offers more than Dier and Dembele, the way they have been playing, like he did tonight.

Time for Pochettino to make some changes to his first team, and Tripps in the bigger games is a no no. Its alright when we're dominating, his attacking qualities are a great asset but in closer games he gets exposed over and over again.

Time for Poch to mix it up.

Lloris could do nothing about the goal, made a couple of routine saves, and a routine mistake too,

Trippier was a horror show, but Saint Pochettino loves him so that’s okay. His mistake lead to City’s winner and it didn’t get better from there.

Sanchez was okay. Dealt with Aguero well on the whole.

Alderweireld was okay, a few decent interceptions and generally read things well.

Davies has his best game in a while, no real trouble down his side and a few purposeful passes and bursts forward.

Dier was predictable run rings around by City’s midfield, but Pochettino loves him so it’s okay.

Dembele was slow, weak, clumsy and rash, but Pochettino loves him so it’s okay.

Sissoko epitomised our performance, lots of huff and endeavour but no quality when it was needed.

Lamela was involved constantly and did his best to force something but his dithering was frustrating. Horrible miss at the end.

Lucas being called a headless chicken would be generous tonight, he was all over the place and his dive was pathetic.

Kane improved a little second half and the Will was there, sadly the touch, passing and composure wasn’t,

Winks came on and instantly improved us. How he’s been unable to dislodge Dembele is a mystery to everyone but Pochettino.

Dele was a genuine threat and almost opened things up but sadly it was too little too late.

Eriksen managed to take the two worst corners of the match.

Pochettino, it’s all well and good having passive aggressive digs at the club who pay you so handsomely pre match, but when you decide to pick a side out of a George Graham wet dream against the league’s most free flowing side it might be time if you are in fact the cause of your unhappiest moment in 4.5 years.
This is an excellent post. At least someone on here has it spot on.

Absolutely spot on.

Lloris 5. Yes made a good save. He is a world class shot stopper. But again his distribution, fkin hell man wtf?

Trippier 6. Fkin awful first half and only slightly better in the 2nd. That flick on header, the lunge in allowing Sterling to just walk past him. Then winning the ball in our are and taping a 1yard pass to a City player. Seemed to be in a state of panic all game bar the last 15min, mainly because we were attacking then and not defending as much.

Sanchez 8 Fkin solid

Toby 8 Fkin solid

Davies 7 meh

Dembele 7 Not his best game ever but I wasnt ever screaming wtf so....

Dier 6 (and Kyle you kicked it off the pitch... again!!! Walker), jeez. Sometimes just fkin brain dead. Needless fouls in dangerous areas and backwards sideways playing us into trouble all the fkin time. Nothing really shockingly bad though. May be talked into a 7. Maybe.

Moura 5. Did the square root of absolutely fuck all all game. I couldnt believe he stayed on for first sub.
Defending. Shit
Creating. Shit
Possesion. Shit
Was like playing with 10 men.
Bad night for him imo and not the game for him at all.
Son would have done more in 5min than he did all night.

Lamela 7. Worked his nuts off. Went to ground too easy and a few headless runs into trouble but gave everything. That miss though.. fuck me Coco, head over the fkin ball.

Sissoko 8. Just checking but that was Sissoko yeah? Manaaged to squeeze in a few clangers but in his defence that one that went of the pitch for a corner was down to us piss balling about at the back again. You keep doing that shit you're inevitably gonna fk up at some point. Great runs, strength and his passing was waaayyyyy better tonight. Playing qith confidencenow I think. Could be a big player for us yet.

Kane 7. Not much to feed off tonight. Barely had a sniff but could have scored but for shit first touch. Not 100% at it but see the quality.

Subs.
Winks 8 Made a massive difference. Looked fkin mustard. I got slightly stiff.

Alli and Eriksen 7 You could see these guys are just a class above Moura and Lamela. They looked mustard imo and arent even match fit.
People moan about how we've been playing lately but come on, any team is gonna suffer with that amount of quality missing, as Kane has.
Looking forward to finishing the 2nd half of the season in our new home with a fit Alli Eriksen Kane Son and Winks.

Bring it mutha fu#####

Sissokho MoM

Moura needs a break. He was very poor today. Also looked knackered, which might explain it.

Trippier, when he doesn't get the crosses in doesn't offer very much to the team and cab be a liability in a flat back 4.

Out of those available I'm agreeing with the following themes

KWP > Davies
Winks > Dembele
Aurier > Trippier (big games)

Ironically, Poch has inadvertently saved some of our better players for WHam

Lloris - 6 - Loses a point for a bad mistake but one very good save from Mahrez

Trippier - 4 - Poor. Got badly done by Sterling for the goal.

Sanchez - 7 - Fairly solid, but why does he keep passing it back to keeper when we're on the front foot?!?

Alderweireld - 7 - Mostly good but lucky to get away with that handball

Davies - 6 - Ok I guess

Dier - 6 - Acceptable

Sissoko - 8 - The last few games have suggested why we spent that money on him. Bout time, only taken until mid-way through his third season. Good to see him bursting forward with the ball to transition between defence and attack.

Dembele - 5 - Clearly on the decline

Lucas - 4 - Struggled tonight against one of the only full-backs in the league as fast as he is. For that reason I thought he should have changed position as it clearly wasn't working.

Lamela - 6 - Had been a very impressive performance. But...an unacceptable miss brings his score down. The momentum was with us and we may even have won if he'd scored.

Kane - 5 - Utter shit in the first half, better holding up the ball in the second but still below par.

Subs:

Winks - 7 - Has a burst of pace I didn't realise he had until tonight. Impressive performance and he's earned himself a starting role now.

Alli - 7 - Got stuck in, unlucky not to have an assist to his name.

Eriksen - 6 - Did ok, need him back to his best as soon as we can.

You couldn't fault the effort tonight. Our players scrapped away and competed. However, as I said in the match thread, we've had a couple of games now like that this season, where we've raised the effort and ran hard in games to compete, but they've had a bit of an air of frantic desperation to it. The use of the ball has been a bit messy and chaotic. Contrast that to previous seasons, where we've had games where we've gone up a level and played and pressed with a furious intensity, but zipped the ball about calmly and with control. World of difference in those displays.

City looked the superior footballing outfit by some distance, their pass and move and manipulation of space was by some distance better than ours at times, but they didn't really get out of second gear and it was a bit of a sloppy display from them. That we had to compete so hard to hang in there against a team putting in an average display...........

We did have to ride our luck majorly a couple of times at 1-0 down, but with City not taking them and offering up half chances every so often I actually wouldn't have been surprised if we stole a point towards the end. It was kind of pointing towards that script..... However we had three good openings in the game and wasted all of them, and put that with the silly goal conceded and we're talking yet again about a game where we've rather shot ourselves in the foot.

Frustrating, but that's football. We have to pick ourselves up and improve.

Lloris - Saved what he had to save. A few iffy kicks, and got away with one in particular.

Trippier - Shambolic for the goal. Didn't really get much better.

Sanchez - Better from him tonight, stood up well and defended solidly.

Alderweireld - Switched off badly on one occasion but he too played pretty well. I thought our centre backs were probably the most competent out there.

Davies - Pretty solid. Improved as the game went on.

Dier - Offered very little with and without the ball. The gaps these last few games between the lines that are being left are really bad.

Dembele - He's done. Waddled around clinging on for dear life. See above re. positioning and the space in front of our defence.

Sissoko - Martin Tyler's assessment towards the end was pretty spot on. Worked very hard up and down the pitch and put himself about well. Some of his runs paid off, some didn't, but at the crucial times couldn't find the pass/final ball. Especially for that chance in the first half when he was clean through. An improvement tonight, but you still hope for more.

Lamela - First half took up some good positions but a bit wasteful most of the time. His space was shut down by City in the second half, kept battling away but couldn't find that bit of quality. Wasted our best chance late on.

Moura - Plugged away at it, but pretty erratic.

Kane - A few flashes here and there, but mostly trundled about and looked the worn out laboured player he has done for months. Another who wasted a great opportunity when clean through.

Subs:
Winks - Looked infinitely better than our deadly cm2 duo.

Alli - Got involved, slipped a good pass through for the Lamela chance, looked a bit rusty I thought at other times.

Eriksen - n/a.
