I didn't think anyone was particularly bad today. It wasn't Bergwijn's game and he should have gone off sooner and for Lucas. OK, Reguilon had a bad day at the office but other was one of those performances where he was conspicuous because he had a lot of the ball in the first half and nothing much worked out for him.

Sissoko was decent.

I think we have to get used to this Tottenham mentality. Mourinho s mid to low block tactics against certain teams if we don't win leaves a lot of questions.

We should have won the game. We made enough clear-cut chances, but for their keeper pulling off at least 2 unbelievable saves.
Jose seemed as dismayed as us all post-match. He was suggesting we hadn’t set up to cede so much possession to them and that it had irked him that we did.

frustrating day at the office. Thankfully Pool and chavs both had ‘mares aswell...

I swear around 80% of all goals we've ever conceded have come from a stupid Aurier foul. He's definitely improved under Mourinho, but that is one area he needs to work on big time.

It was against Zaha. It happens

It happens against everyone. It shouldn't.

So what should he have done let Zaha go past him? I thought he handled Zaha pretty well yesterday. But blame him for the goal if you want.

I still can't see why everyone assumes we "sat back" intentionally. We didn't. We got outplayed.

As usual, no one is considering how the opposition played. What we did badly after about 50 minutes was to pass inaccurately and give the ball away. What Palace did well was to play with increased urgency and not give it back to us.

Despite the loss of control of the midfield after half time, due to poor passing, their goalkeeper still needed to make 4-5 top-class saves and put in a MotM performance to prevent us from running up a big score. On another day that match would have ended 2-5.

It wasn't a change of tactics or lack of attempt to score more goals that lost us our lead. It was poor ball retention, leading directly to sustained periods of pressure from the opposition.

Palace won the draw at least as much as we lost our lead.

because it's a recurring theme? unless of course it's just a coincidence that we keep getting outplayed only once we're ahead.

also i would say the loss of control happened within about five minutes of going ahead, not only the 2nd half. funnily enough we also regained control completely once they equalised.

Maybe Mou is telling the truth about that, but he still leave it too late to do anything about it.

There’s a difference between sitting back and getting outplayed. City and Arsenal had loads of possession but created very little whereas Palace were getting in behind our midfield block and creating chances. I know Guaita saved them on multiple occasions but it’s the 1st game this season with the exception of Everton where we didn’t look in control and could have lost the game.

The recurring theme in the last few weeks has been defending a lead, but not being outplayed. We had control of those matches in a defensive shape, because we passed accurately and didn't let the opposition attackers behind our defensive line.

Against Palace it was different. Our midfielders and defenders gave away the ball on multiple occasions (I would estimate 20+) in situations where Palace attackers were pressing and ready to push us further back.

I felt relatively comfortable against Arsenal and Chelsea, less so against Man City and not at all against Palace. The goal was plainly coming yesterday, in a way that was not so in our recent matches.

Despite all that, it still needed a MotM performance and five top-class saves from Guaita, including two or three in the second half, to save them from a mauling.

If you are getting pushed back then when you clear the ball you attempt to get up the pitch.

We didn't, that says it all to me.

Sunday's game seemed to be Spurs player's getting obsessed with the idea they can sit back and shut down any team once they get the lead. Focusing too much on shithousing and wasting time, lowering the tempo. We invited the pressure on by making silly fouls near our own box and lots of corners.

You have to bury teams to win a league. Hope the players realize they got it massively wrong and look to push forward again for goals two and three in games like this in the future. I don't blame Mourinho because after the game he said that he wanted to ball and the way to beat CP is to be aggressive in the press. I wonder if it was just the players buying too much into the idea that they shut and kill games off with only 1 goal, wearing it as a badge of honour and buying into this whole idea we are now in it to shithouse victories all the time.
