He was a one man counter attack - quite incredible athleticism. Still just a bit short of quality on skill sadly.Sissoko was good. Always available, got in good positions and covered a lot of ground

ain't going to lie ---- want a lucky break with the draw, please can Utd get Leic/Chel....we never, ever get breaks when it matters with the draw....dearly would love one now....of course understand we will likely get chelscum
I’m good with that actually, do not fear this Utd at all, I don’t think the players do either.typical....we get utd
Why?I’m good with that actually, do not fear this Utd at all, I don’t think the players do either.
Put it this way, if Leicester had won, I’d rather play Utd than them.
Because Leicester tactics are designed to exploit a high line like ours, they’re practiced at them more than Utd are. Why?
Think Mourinho sets up all his teams to counter attack and exploit a high line, especially against teams with an attacking set up like ours. Think we'd have overwhelmed Leicester. United have way more of a counter attacking threat, a better defence and players that can keep possession.Because Leicester tactics are designed to exploit a high line like ours, they’re practiced at them more than Utd are.
That’s the way I see it anyway.
Who said everyone gets a pass. I didn’t praise anyone. I didn’t even do a ratings post because it so meaningless.
And nobody, including me, criticised Sissoko’s overall performance.
Trying to work out how an FA Cup quarter final can be so meaningless.
I honestly don't understand this assertion that the perfomance of our players can be diluted by the opposition we're facing. We don't pick who we play against, we just have to go out and beat whoever it is and do it to the best of our ability. Equally it's MASSIVELY disrespectful to the opposition. When we played Newport and Rochdale it would be easy to say "it's only Newport or Rochdale" but both of those teams played very well against us considering the obvious gulf in talent between the teams and they deserved the praise they got.
Granted, Swansea sat back and offered relatively little to the game on Saturday but it doesn't escape the fact that everyone in a Spurs shirt played well, including Vorm, despite having so little to do. If he doesn't make that double save then all of a sudden it's 2-1 and Swansea are back in it and possibly pushing for an equaliser.
Whether you criticised Sissoko or not, you also don't really want to praise him and that has been clear in your posts, even in the match thread. You're entitled to your opinion BC, as are we all, and it's clear that you know a thing or two about the tactical side of the game but please don't insult everyone's intelligence by pretending that you don't have your favourites (Winks, Wanyama, etc) who can often do no wrong, and your villains (Sissoko, Dier, etc), who can often do no right - no matter how well they play.
@Ionman34 made some great points about Sissoko and I completely agree with him that the progress he's making is clear to see. Sissoko was a good CM at Toulouse before Newcastle signed him and has since been moved around a lot. It seems to me that Poch is looking to revert him back into a powerful CM that can break lines with his running and in my view he's becoming a valuable squad player, far more valuable than say a Bakayoko from Chelsea who cost 10m + more than Sissoko did and he can barely complete a pass. I know who I'd rather have in our squad.
I didn’t mean the game was meaningless, I meant it was meaningless doing a ratings post as the opposition was so docile and insipid.
Of course I have players I rate more than others, most of us (if not all) do.
Sissoko was not a good cm at Toulouse. He played in a traditional CM role a handful of times in his early appearances, but for most of his games he played either ARM or ACM in their 4141 diamond format with Capoue as the 1 behind Didot or one of the others at the base of the diamond. After those early half dozen games the only time he played as a traditional CM was if one of the others was out and he had to fill in.
My point was, it’s bogus to think he’s making progress when the opposition are so passive. If he’d done anything exceptional, you could maybe argue that. But he didn’t.
Stoke, Everton and Huddersfield (A). All games were the opposition were, to put it mildly, cack.I didn’t mean the game was meaningless, I meant it was meaningless doing a ratings post as the opposition was so docile and insipid..

Without checking, I'd bet both my bollocks, six inches of cock and my collection of Kelly Brook pubes that you left ratings posts in all of them*
*someone is going to check now aren't they? People will do anything for an extra 6 inches and a few of Kell's pubes.
Ok well either way you're still belittling the performance of our players because of the quality of the opposition which was largely what I was pulling you up on.
Absolutely, we all have players we rate more than others but you spend as much, if not more time continually going after the players you don't like/rate and you tend to ignore what they do well because it fits your agenda against said players. We certainly don't all do that.
Ok BC, you can write your post like you watched Toulouse every week back between 2007 - 2013 when Sissoko was there but facts speak for themselves. Transfermarkt has him listed as appearing in CM more than any other position during his time there. 77 apps to be precise. 44 in AM and 23 in RM. He had a pretty balanced output considering but I think my statement that he was a good CM was accurate, even if toward the end of his time there he may have been playing further forward, his best position in my humble opinion is CM.

Agree to disagree.

Your mumWhere are you going to get the other 4 inches of cock from?
Played awful against Chelsea didn't they?Has anyone actually realised how bad Utd are playing at the moment?
Fair comment.Think Mourinho sets up all his teams to counter attack and exploit a high line, especially against teams with an attacking set up like ours. Think we'd have overwhelmed Leicester. United have way more of a counter attacking threat, a better defence and players that can keep possession.
