It's obviously for the best, but can't help but feel sad about this, had such high hopes, and have probably never wanted a player to succeed more.

Really hope things pick up for him in Spain.

All the best Bobby.
He rivals Rebrov for me on all counts, the elation, the hope, the reality, the disappointment and the exit stage left.

But it's like your shouting at someone's Mum on the day her son died.

The smug "good riddance" type of post that you have set out in multiple threads isn't particularly welcome, which is why I picked it up. He's gone now, it's fine. But don't have a go at people for having liked him as a person.

Don't you dare utter Pav's voice in the same sentence as him either, as he was here for the money and couldn't give two fucks. That's from come my mate who had him at his house every week for dinner too.

The bit in bold, seriously wtf? This really has gone off at the deep end now.

I don't have a problem with people liking him as a person. Nice guy undoubtedly. I explained what I took issue with, defences related to on the pitch stuff that have been largely conjured out of thin air, and I think deep down people know that. I've just called out what I think is total BS really, and yes I may have been a bit childish at times but I don't think I have been that different to how I post on other topics. I felt that it needed to be countered at the time. He seemed to have some sort of special status, posters wouldn't get away with embellishing the records of other, less popular players.

Anyway my presence here is not going to be constructive, so I'll back out now. Enjoy the funeral :)

I feel happy, relieved and regretful all at the same time, I've had the very same feeling when I've pulled one off before now.

Despite not having a great career with us I still genuinely love this guy and knew he would apologise for not living up to expectations because he is that sort of person. Good luck back in Spain Bobby, you deserve nothing but.

I've NEVER commented on ratings I've received but how THE FUCK did I get spammed for this? Fat fingers? 7 year lurker with no posts too. Cool, bro.

Reminds me of the hope that we had for Rebrov. Also similar in my opinion to postiga. Wanted both of them to succeed so much.

The gushing over this guy leaving is ridiculous. The only reason he has made such a statement is because he is embarrassed at how poorly he performed for us. It didn't work out for him here, move on.

We signed a striker totally unsuited to our style of play and broke him. He had zero confidence from about Christmas his first year here. Felt for him, not particularly sorry to see him go and didn't like seeing his name on the teamsheet but seemed a nice guy and I really hope he rekindles his form.

Clearly a class act and a very nice person. Unfortunate that it didn't work out for him, but he's got a much better head on his shoulders and is much more dignified than many footballers these days. Will always have a soft spot for the guy. Wish him all the best.

The Rebrov and Klinsmann signings were like Shooting of JFK still remember exactly where I was when I heard the announcement on the radio.

Driving a clapped Austin Maestro banging the steering wheel and blaring the horn as drove through a sleepy Cheshire village.

I like to think they understood the occasion.

Good luck to him, I hope he picks up his career again. Just wasn't meant to be for us, I'm afraid. I always appreciated the fact that he showed a good attitude despite the bad times, unlike some other strikers that have had the privilege of wearing our colours...
