Lukaku isn't technically anything special. Just a big, powerful ****.
Agree, I doubt you'll ever see either of them hit a crisp volley into the top corner from an acute angle. Both just incredible athletes with enough technique to get by, but it seems to work well in modern systems.

Strictly statistically speaking (because somebody has to...)

12/13 Season
Benteke
19 goals in 32 apps (Villa: 22 total season goals)
4 assists
3.1 shots per game
7.9 aerial duals won per game
Lukaku
17 goals in 20 apps (West Brom: 24 total season goals)
4 assists
2.8 shots per game
1.9 aerial duals won per game

While 17 in 20 is more impressive than 19 in 32, I still think it's fair to say neither is "far better" than the other. Both were on mid-to-lower table teams in the same league, Villa was playing long ball that allowed Benteke so many aerial dual opportunities (still impressive) and both were the centerpiece of their respective teams' attack. This season Benteke is averaging 0.4 goals per game and Lukaku 0.5. Also, it should be noted that Benteke was the clear starting choice for Belgium through the qualifiers playing three times as many minutes as Lukaku.

It is, however, important to remember that Lukaku is three years younger than Benteke.

I'd prefer we spent half the money on Batshuyi tbh

Seriously? How the fuck am I meant to remember how to spell his name? I'm going to get a thousand dislikes, every time he scores.

No consideration for the illiterate, can't we sign Ba?

There's a little mnemonic trick you can employ using pictures. You are already half way there (y).

That gives you the 'Ba'.

And there you have the 'tshuyi'.

Now just put them together and you get 'Batshuyi'.

Spelling is easy when you know all the tricks ;).

Just came off with an ankle injury, there's the possibility of ligament damage, according to the initial reports.

And there goes any chance Everton had of top four. They are going to struggle to score if he is out for any significant time period.

Tottenham Hotspur have made Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea’s £25 million-rated striker, one of their top summer transfer targets.

Lukaku has spent this season on loan at Everton and his goal against Swansea at the weekend was his 12th of the campaign.

Spurs were among a host of clubs interested in Lukaku last summer and chairman Daniel Levy made a cheeky offer to swap Emmanuel Adebayor for the 20-year-old.

Tottenham will make a more serious bid for Lukaku this year and hope to convince Chelsea to allow the player to stay in the Premier League.

Chelsea will demand big money for Lukaku, who they signed for £17 million from Anderlecht in 2011, but Spurs would comfortably be able to offer the player an increase to his £40,000-a-week wages.

Also unless Adebayor leaves I don't we should be looking at a striker unless he is going to be young and sit on the bench
