That's written by Dave Kitson. Whilst some is true, edge in side of caution because he hates Pulis.

Also no chance can WBA get £30m for SB. Whether playing or not they wouldn't get that with 18months left on his contract

Hmmm, interesting. Obviously about SB and clearly insinuating that Pulis is playing his own games too (for financial gains as well as other things).

The kind of article that had it named names would have been a flirting with a libel lawsuit, but very interesting take on it indeed.

Pretty sure it's libelous anyway, as it's so obvious who's involved. Not exactly subtle...

This thing about manager's getting a cut of transfer fees or using their own agent to sign players shouldn't be allowed by the chairman when he gets the manager to sign the contract when he joins the club.

If it is about Pulis then I wonder if it's why he left Palace under strange circumstances?

And some on here neg me saying players not treated as 'slaves' according to Joey Barton and others. Stuck between two masters serving their own means.

If people are clearly identifiable - and they are in the article - it can still be libel, even if they aren't actually named.

I obviously have no inside knowledge of football but you just get the feeling that is the way it always was in the 'good old days'. The new younger manager and director of football has changed the way clubs are run but some of the Harrys, Sams and Tonys are a bit of a through back.
The stories about managers taking a cut in transfer fees were widespread in the Clough and Fergie era. Isn't big Sam's son an agent. Venables and Sugar fell out over similar issues.
Very interesting.

Is not one of the things you appoint a manager for, especially one like Pulis, is his experiemce and knowledge and contacts so if he brings all of that and his status at the club is a deciding factor for players choosing to come to the club, is he not entitled to remuneration, sort of interlectual property rights?
Nothing untoward about that surely.
Also that article looks like something a notoriously unpleasant chairman with an axe to grind might put to a useful hack.

It's pretty much an open secret now that Kitson is TSF...

As regards the piece, Kitson has blamed Pulis for his bad time at Stoke, so take it with a pinch of salt.

On the other hand it makes perfect sense too. Maybe the idea that Pulis is only out to rinse the club is taking it too far, but mix it with every manager liking to have money to spend on his own players, whilst making a little bit of wedge on top, isn't too far fetched.

The article was very well written and might even be regarded as a bit of 'window' into how matters work behind the scenes at so many clubs. Well worth reading. Thanks to @Larryjanta for posting.
