Not for me thanks. Too old lost his yard of pace and I thought he was pretty average last season for Chelski. Very expensive wages and offers nothing new

The lads "t'riffic" would be what Harry would say leaning out of his Range Rover on the way home to Portsmouth after we just signed Eto of a free and paid him 500K tax free a week.

Harry would also say "I'm giving back to the fans because having just three letters on the back of their shirt is cheaper than Addebayooor"

Could job Harry is long gone then init :)

A 1 in 2 game goalscorer for every single club he has ever been at , without exception.... on a freebie.

I would take him for a season. Nothing to lose is there really.

Give it a rest, get over it, H is long gone, why do people still think it's funny to have a pop at our most successful manager in a decade, absolutely ridiculous!!

Better than Soldado and on a free would allow money from any Soldado fee in to be spent on improving attacking midfield areas where there's a chronic lack of invention

Apart from his huge wage demands.

I thought he was poor for most of last season in a well oiled machine that created an abundance of chances.

Distinctly unimpressed, I'd pass without hesitation.

A decade? Since Pleat in the late 80s. As for the most attractive football? Best in my lifetime and I'm 37. It's not just the players available. AVB turned the clock back to the time of Wendy Ramos for attractive football.

On topic Eto'o: it's bad enough being past your sell by date but would be embarrassing if he was joint top earner to boot.

He's not.

But I'd take him for a year to add to our current trio.

at the 100K wages I'd not be against his joining. And it reports are correct he's not going to ANC this year as retired again or such.

Easy fella, that's not even close to being true. A successful manager does a thing called 'winning something'. I know the guy did well & took us into the CL, but he 'won' the square route of fuck all. When it comes to 'success', even Juande Ramos comes out on top of Redknapp.

Sorry if that offends you, I am just old fashioned & people thinking 4th is a sign of success is just something I'll never buy into. 4th is just the 3rd best at losing!

Everyone has their own opinion of what constitutes 'success'. I disagree with the notion of simply winning a cup makes you successful. By that arguement George Graham is right up there. I personally go for the arguement of sustained highest placed league finishes (along with Jol), returning hope and pride and a style and panache missing under Juande, Graham and most recently under AVB.

What is a lot harder to argue against is the style of play under Redknapp. We were most neutral's second team at that point.

Fair play, it's your right to disagree. If you don't perceive 'winning a trophy' as something of 'a success', who am I to argue?

I'll also counter your "sustained highest placed league finishes", with "consecutive end of season slumps". Whilst I'll ask you this question.... Redknapp got 70 points & finished 4th, our highest ever PL finish, whilst AVB got 72 points, our biggest ever PL points haul. Which one was more 'successful' ?

Not really. I agree that I'd rather see us win a trophy than finish 4th, but regular CL qualification means a better chance of keeping our best players, signing better players, and generally being in a better position to compete for trophies on a regular basis.

Obviously regular CL qualification is no guarantee of trophies (just look at the gooners), but if the game is all about winning stuff, the money and fame that the CL brings would definitely improve our chances.

Harry certainly made a good go at it. Missed out on the league cup in a penalty shoot-out, two FA cup semi-finals, and two top four finishes tells me that he did more to have us competing for honours than any other manager of recent years.
