The big problem has been getting Sandro fit to share the workload this season.

Exactly. If Sandro had been fit then Scotty wouldn't have had to play every game but we wouldn't be nearly as effective without at least one of them playing.

He also looked more tired yesterday becase he was having to chase back alot more due to our constant ability to give the ball away (of which he was admittedly part of).

Hope he's recovered by the Arsenal game. He's exactly the sort of midfielder they find it hard to deal with.

He's been like this in every game where we are under pressure. Constantly giving possession away due to his bad touch or making a pass hard for his teammates. In those situations all he can do is fall on the floor and try to win a foul as he does not have the composure in high tempo games to pick out a pass.

You're like Boris except replacing Modric for Parker.

Parker needs a rest and would have liked to see him rested yesterday. With injuries I guess we couldn't take the risk though. We really need Sandro back and ready to go.

He's needed this rest since November, For the last two months his form has been completely patchy. No where near as consistent as Kaboul or Modric in the league.

He's idolised because he put's his foot in, which is always popular with the lowest common denominator.

Him and Livermore together were actually outplayed by league 1 midfielders yesterday. With two players that are supposed to protect the back four, Stevenage must have had 8 strikes from the edge of the box.

He is brilliant, and has been a great asset for us but, and this is the only issue I have with him, we seem to stop a lot more ball getting to the opposing strikers when Sandro plays than Parker.

Scotty is magnificent at the last ditch stuff, but it's often his fault that it's gotten to that stage in the first place-a prime example was a moment against City where he flung himself in the way of Richards to stop a cross, but in truth he should have been stopping the ball to Micah Richards in the first place.

This isn't a life or death issue for him whatsoever, just pointing out that whilst he goes through a hell of a lot of running, he seems to need more cover against the good sides to block the supply from the opposing midfielders to their strikers; not having Sandro on Sunday could be a game-deciding blow based on how Song has been playing from an attacking sense recently

I take it you missed the Liverpool game?

Perhaps his work load could be lightened by reduced his perm.
He'd have more energy if he didn't have to carry that lot about with him.

For me, our possesion was shit, we gave the ball away so much all the time.
In a normal Pleague game we dont give away the ball that much so Scotty had to do so much more work than normal, i do think he is tired though and could benefit from a tiny rest.

Probably but without Sandro we're struggling for numbers.
It's not as if we're regularly playing two games a week .

See the below for your answer. Parker is the CM equivalent of Carragher. In fact Parker is our Dawson in midfield. Lots of heart but little ability other than to get his body on the line and they both aren't on the same wavelength to the others when it comes to a passing game. However Dawson gets castigated for it whereas Parker is worshipped; which is strange given that it is excusable to have cloggers at CB but not in CM.

I agree with this post about song, who is very good at driving forward, Zokora like into the opposition box. Parker and modric don't have the physicality to cope should he start doing that. This in turn will create lots of space in our two man CM.

Back to Parker he actually offers very little protection in terms of being a traditional anchor man. He's more like Michael Brown, a guy who runs around chasing the ball looking to make a challenge. Yes to the uncultured eye it may look good but it doesn't really help the team keep its shape. Sandro is much more disciplined and we look more solid with him in the team.
