Bentley couldn't get near the Birmingham team when he went there, and even if he is still ours, I think he has shown that is no sort of replacement for Lennon.

I also don't see us singing anyone who is "way better" than Lennon in the near future, because of the cost of signing such a player and the likely wages. That still leaves us short of cover for the right side of midfield. If we aren't going to pay big for a winger, or offer big wages, then we should consider alternatives. I think Seb Larsson, a player who can slot it at right back as well, on a free wouldn't be a bad option - unless there are better options out there.

The Birmingham team that went down? Not sure we'll see any decent football out of Bentley again, but I don't think we should put too much store in whatever it was that McLeish was trying to improve.

There's no point in signing any squad players, however, as Harry picks favourites then plays them until they break.

I don't think his inability to get into a team that got relegated can be taken as a positive indication of Bentley's ability; quite the opposite I would have thought.

Also, if we were to sign Larsson, presumably it would be with Harry's backing.

Decent player, good industry, fantastic right foot (top 5 in the league for sure).

He has been on fire in the national team as of late too.

If what we needed was depth I would be all for it. But we need players of the highest quality and Seb Larsson just isn't that good.
