shit home support ?... Within the space of a couple of years we've been taken from Modric, Van Der Vaart, and Gareth Bale to Ryan Mason, Nacer Chadli and some Stambouli chap. We now even feel blessed if Harry Kane starts. This, ladies and gents, is why the atmosphere is so shit. Simple.

It's the worst thing that's ever happened to us support wise. 10th highest average attendance last season and 1 season in the CL yet we have the hardest to please fans in the league?

Um. .? hang on. The reason we only had the 10th highest average attendance is the other 9 have bigger grounds

We've upgraded from Bassong, Gomes and Bentley to Vertonghen, Lloris and Eriksen - same hypothetical.

Football is what you make of it.

Simple.

19 Tottenham Hotspur

When Arsenal or Chelsea visit and the default grumble is replaced by passionate support, White Hart Lane is vibrant. Much of the rest of the time it is a palace of whinge.

he's not wrong.
Right about Selhurst.

This was my favourite moment of last season.

If people only want to support big names instead of the club then they really need to fuck off. I'd rather have the ground 50% full with fans who know what the game is about.

No atmosphere at the Lane OMG

The reason why? Tickets are too expensive, the fans are no longer working class, they all sit down, our songs are boring. I'm fed up with "Yid Army" & "Stand up if you hate Arsenal"...oh and "come On You Spurs" sung by a 20th of the ground. But when we go away its a different story. Our supporters are different class. Topping it all is Sunday football. I rarely go because I want to spend time with the family. I give my tickets to mates and this weekend nobody wanted it. How many more are the same...you look around and you notice that on Sunday and cup games you only know a quarter of the supporters around you. I had the unfortunate experience (work reasons) to watch a scum game at the library a few weeks ago. How sad it was to note that there is more atmosphere at their ground than ours. That's how far we have fallen.

I miss the 70's atmosphere where you had to be at the ground at least an hour before kick off (if not you often would not get in) and the only thing to do was eat roasted peanuts and sing your heart out.

Unfortunately our supporters do not know how to lift the team (all they do is moan constantly) we wait for them to lift us. Piss poor.

Off to the pub now with the family COYS

How is it that you watched a football match in a library? You mean an old match from the library archives?

Why was that a rule?

You are just a troll. Stop it. Just stop it already. Stop with the damn questions. He very obviously answered your question in the part of the quote you excluded.

I think it's silly to have this reverse-classist attitude and to think that just because someone is intelligent, studied hard at school and/or works hard as an adult that they are somehow less of a supporter than the tradionally-lionised "working class". Likewise with this old v young issue everyone raises. We don't don't have a massive hospitality proportion of the ground and haven't had a groundswell of corporate or older fans move in since the atmosphere at our ground went south. Looking around at support in the stands, it definitely seem the malaise bidges all groups including the young and middle classes. If there is one thing that seems to unify them it's the belief that we because we had one sniff of a success a few years ago that we always somehow deserve more and that every misplaced pass is jeered and groaned at, along with the "Levy out" politics. Not just old, rich folks.

So the working class are stupid, didn't work hard at school and are all unemployed?

Despite the dross that was served up today, at one point mid second half we actually managed to get some support for the team. Not much to report on, but better than some games this season.

Maybe next home game when half our fans have had enough, we should sing 'can you see us walking out' :).
