Fryers looks average for the u21's. Not sure he'll ever be ready.

Give Rose a shot I say. He can't have done much more for Sunderland this season so he deserves at least a chance.

He has the potential to be a very good LB, his tenacity is similar to Cole unfortunately he has a mouth to match but Liverpool are interested and apparently AVB said he is going nowhere if read it correctly

Of course he should get a chance, if he doesn't play well there'll still be plenty of teams after him in January.

Yeah give him a shot, see how he is pre-season, if he works hard, attitude is right then put him in at the start of next season.

we sent him on loan and he improved. it would be stupid not giving him a chance next season, wouldn't it?

the fact that the sunderland fans were chanting his name after the game, proves he should be given a chance for me.
He can't really have done any more to prove himself can he?

Not sure he was ever given a 1st chance? Always been back up to benny?
We used 3 left backs last year and none of them nailed the spot for next year imo.
Rose had a good season by all accounts and i think he desereves chance

My mates Brother used to play with Rose, to see how far he's came from a fast striker is amazing so he's clearly willing to put the work in.

At the Olympics he was one of the better players, lets see how he does at the U21's this Summer

Rose wants to be first choice and he won't come back if it means being a back up to BAE. It will be one or the other- not both.

My opinion on Rose changes daily, but right now i think he's exactly what we need. If we're to switch to a 4-3-3 next season we need a pacy left back who's comfortable going forward. Rose is a former midfielder/winger turned left-back, so he will be VERY comfortable doing that. He's far from perfect though and I have 2 main concerns with him: his passing ability, and his actual defending, the latter of which is a pretty major concern for someone who's position primarily entails defending. When i watched him for Sunderland it seemed he was too careless with the ball and gave it away more than i'd liked to see. His defending also wasn't as good as it should've been. I'm not sure if it was just the games i watched, or if that was a normal thing, but if he can work on those two things this summer i think he'll impress everyone simply because of his ability to go forward and he'll have a very good shot at becoming our starting LB.

It's funny how spurs fans + sunderland fans opinions contrast on him. Spurs fans just think he's shit and want rid, but sunderland fans think he's the greatest left back they've ever had and believe he's a future star. When it comes to this matter, i think i'll trust the opinions of fans whom have watched him for a year over those who's experience with him is limited and are notoriously knee-jerky when it comes to these kind of things. ;)
