Slavia Prague and the Final

Got my ticket for the home Slavia Prague game today, the game is on the 21st Feb - 3 days before the final!!

I checked Bluescum fixtures they are away to Olympiakos on the 19th Feb - 5 days before the final!

I know they have to travel to Greece and adjust to the slight time zone difference, but having 5 days to recover and prepare gives thiem even more advantage over us....

As ST holder i signed up for the cup guarantee scheme, so i am not sure when they are available to everyone

Shades of last year, when we had less than two days to prepare for a game against Chelsea after the Seville game (I think that's right).

well if we can get the job done in the away leg then hopefully we can rest a few players.

btw why do we not have a match in between the two slavia prague matches - is that an fa cup weekend - cant find any dates on the bbc website. i also see that the prem game with chelsea is tbc, so i wonder where that will slot in. I think it was due to be played on the Carling cup final date - how about that, same fixture different comp.

Yes pedro, that weekend is for the 5th round of the FA cup so it's one reason why I'm not bothered if we play a second string team at OT and get knocked out.

You are also correct that we would have been playing chelsea the day before the CC final anyway. In a way it's good that we got to the final otherwise we'd have had another fixture to squeeze in down the line but with no other benefit.
