like most the first game I went to was with my Dad in 1980 (can't remember which one). He's 79 and a bit frail now so stopped going a while ago. The first season tickets we had were in the Paxton, and then moved to west upper a few seasons later

Last night i went with my Dad, and my 16 year old son - 3 generations......was special, and a bit of history. Lovely to be at a game with him again and his grandson

Mixed night. Was right next to the Palace fans, some of whom were disgusting ("kill all the Jews"). Some of our fans weren't much better. Lots of goading and spitting (both sets of fans) and a couple thrown out before halftime. Grown men, not kids. Pathetic individuals.

Train away was a nightmare again, even with Northumberland Park open. Getting in and out of Wembley was a dream compared to this.

Football was a mixed bag. We looked very nervous, but three points is what mattered.
Just as well we won, sounds like you had a shit night.

I'll be there. Leaving work a little early, will grab a few beers in the usual haunt before heading in. South stand, slowly learning the new words to the Shelf side/Park Lane Tottenham chant.

Having done both test events with the queues, running out of beer, pumps not working, and that's far removed from full capacity, think it will be carnage in the concourses tonight.

But it will be absolutely worth it. Cannot wait. Only downside is my best man can't make it tonight.

they were so quiet, to be honest I was hoping not to hear the Palace fans all night. even the south sounded louder on Saturday than last nigh, prawn west stand is what it is, and the Paxton tried, but not the buzz I expected.

did we declare a full house? There was 6 empty seats in front of me

Just got home - getting to the tube after the game was a mare - but It was worth it to say 'I was there' COYS
Yeah, the tube was a right pain with the controlled entrance, seem to hold for ever.

I was in block 525, amazing seats with a cracking view of the pitch. My son was in 506 for the first half and at half time I went and got him as there was at least 20 empty seats in my row and infront of me.

not as shit as my ending. as I've posted I have mobility probs. I stayed sat for the 1st 10 mins after to let bodies go out. sat above you in level 4 I can use lifts to take me down, but due to the place the lifts are in the North, I can use 1 on the corner of the West. when you come out it's all carpeted and we had some stewards take us to our area. going back I approached the doors 2 more very helpful stewards, trouble is I do drag my feet and as going through the doors BANG! I hit the deck.

They helped me up, and asked if I needed medical assistance (now wished I'd said yes) but I was taking people back so didn't want them worried, and felt OK enough. I've woke up with a should and neck stiff as fuck this morning:cry:

We were singing plenty. It's always been the South East Upper corner and the Park Lane that makes the noise.

Palace fans aside, it was great to be there. Had a really nice chat with Paul Coyte. What a gent he is. He was pleased as punch when I asked him to sign my programme. Found him wandering around in the East stand as he was lost :)

I know, trouble with me Dougal is the group I was taking back had a 9yrs old kid. wanted to make sure they got home and felt shaken and a little achey, but I'm like that every day lol. if I felt worse and thought I'd be able to contact them easy I might of been looked at, but god knows how long they would of taken

perhaps the noise coming from my area drowned you out compared to the South. from where I was sat, it looked like only the South Lower was really involved

Im not moaning but did anyone feel like they had lost perspective of where the ball was going etc? It felt like particularly in the upper stands that you were over the pitch rather than side on per se... i mean still a good view of things... maybe i just need to get used to the view etc...

Was awesome to be there but have mixed reviews of the stadium and infrastructure, as others have already reported getting away from the stadium was a nightmare, took 30 mins of queueing to get on a train at WHL, they were far too infrequent for the number of people and were leaving when not full, they couldn't manage the queue properly to get the trains filled. The stadium itself looks immense but has some design flaws, the mezzanine like feel where you can see the ground floor from all levels looks nice but means the concourse isn't wide enough for the number of people. I don't know who decided it was a good idea to put the bars on level 4 in alcoves, basically made it a huge throng of people trying to get in and out. Hope some of it is teething issues which will get ironed out, will see what Huddersfield match is like.

I’d advise anyone planning to get a programme to order online. They probably should have realised that they’d be selling like hot cakes yesterday but I did eventually get 3 after queuing both before the game and at half time. But I do have to say, if people were half as passionate about singing as they are about moaning the stadium would be rocking every game.

That's the thing, everyone was buying half a dozen at a time. I got one at the end for the collection.

Again, that should have been expected. There were enough programmes, they just weren’t enough on the concourses and not enough sellers. The poor fucker that was there by my block staring into the distance praying that a few more boxes would show up so he wouldn’t be left with a slightly pissed off mob

Not a big issue in the long run. As I say, in hindsight they’d have had more sellers or I’d have bought online. Programmes aren’t always going to be that much in demand.

I think they weren't quite expecting the speed of demand for the various stalls. When I joined one of the Tap Inn queues, there were plenty of pies... 5 mins later, all gone.

It’s a learning process. But if you want people there at 5pm you’d better have dinner ready for them. I gave up and got a KFC on the way home. I’m not sure how early I’d have to get there to be organised enough to have something from the Marketplace.

I don't know what other parts of the ground are like, but Level 5 on the East stand is pretty squished for space. I imagine most games I'm going to just be heading straight for my seat.
