Hard to not put two and two together but maybe he is genuinely injured. I'm struggling to not think though that they are planning to replace Townsend and Soldado with one player who can play AM and CF.

I seriously doubt he's injured, not with all the stories in the press and various ITK. Whether he goes or not is another matter

I was thinking this is the perfect game to up his confidence. We're playing well and I thought he'd bang in a few tomorrow evening. And I thought if he doesn't play his finished with us. However Talksport are quoting Poch as saying he is still in his plans:

When pressed on whether the striker will be leaving he said: "He is here but I never talk about any rumours. I don't talk about the speculation.

"He is not in the squad because he has a problem with his neck and back. He is part of my plans for the future."

Standard response though.
Whilst a player is with a club they are always part of a managers plans for the future, at least when it comes to talking to the media.

Hardly going to come out and say "Nice bloke n all, but nah, going to flog him" (with a Poch accent)

I think that is about his worth now.

If this was the case, it'll be an extremely big pill for Levy to swallow...

out of interest...It's been mentioned a lot on SC that we paid a lot less than £26m for Bobby and that figure was made up of add ons, appearance bonuses etc. If we did sell him for say €12m...I'm guessing Valencia are no longer entitled to these from THFC??? Do they get passed on to the new club or do Valencia miss out?

Not that I give a fuck about Valencia, just intrigued how it works.

I'd actually like to see Soldado play a few more times under Poch and the new system before he's moved on.

Di Marzio who broke the Soldado to Milan story has said that they are "looking elsewhere" after we told them to piss off.

I thought it was interesting that Pochettino preferred to bring on Kane Vs QPR, my gut tells me we are looking to flog Soldado.

Despite him only starting the Europa, and him coming on after Kane in both league matches, I'd still be amazed if we actually sold Bobby.

We're not going to get a 2nd striker as good as him, and with so many games to play in all comps this year, I'd hope he'd be happy with the amount of playing time he gets, even if Ade pips him in the league games to start with.

Italian press are reporting that we asked AC Milan that Mattia De Sciglio to be included in any deal to take Soldado. And they told us to piss off and are working on a load deal for Torres now. But whatever the reason I'm just glad Soldado is staying....... for today anyway. Could all change again tomorrow.
