who CARES about the fact that we were hanging on?? theres no such thing as an easy away game in the PL. i dont care what anyone says. If it was the other way round, WE would have been pressing at the end. Its just the way it works. We're 4th chaps. Enjoy it! We're by no means the finished article, and look where we are. COYS!!!

Not to mention Dembele.
Quite. His drive and energy are a big loss too. One thing is for sure, a CM of quality in Jan is looking a bit vital. You can just smell a Dembele quintile leg break round the corner. It''ll be Zokora all over again otherwise. *gulp*

We sure are a contending team. Isn't it true all the top teams pick up 3 points while playing badly?:)

Sandro is my favourite player by a country fucking mile

only one who visibly gives a fuck, he is hard as nails

Yeah he has been awesome in parts (dat block for instanceo_O) but this was one of his most brain dead performances. That stupid freekick that lead to their goal, heading unchallenged high balls straight back to the oppo, total lack of passing and movement all game. He seriously needs to work on the playmaking side of his game and use his noggin a bit more. Massive potential, needs to make the most of it

There's plenty of matches I've seen from quality teams in the PL where it's been easy!

Friedel, Livermore & Defoe should be pretty ashamed of their performances, Defoes greediness is so terrible, he has such tunnel vision, Sandro should be branded a hero for that header!

AVB needs to sort this shit out. As soon as we get a head, we get complacent and think the job is done. Then we end up defending on the 6 yard line, like cowering chickens, doing our best to give the opposition the win.

Great we won, but fuck me, do we need a serious fucking kick up the arse, a game is played from 90 mins, not 45.

AVB, sort this shit out. I can't beleive we struggle to hold on against Southampton. Fucking joke.

We could really do with someone who could pass the ball and keep it, someone like carroll would have been great to have come on in this match

Big difference in performances of both halves, first half we were all over them and should have been four or five nil up. Second half we were lucky to get the three points. We looked so weak second half.

Miserable second half performance. You could see the mentality of the team change when Livermore was brought on, and who can blame them? A midfield pairing of Jake and Sandro is never going to be able to take hold of the ball.

On the bright side, we're fourth despite injuries to Kaboul, BAE, Parker, Ade and now Dembele and without a proper replacement for VDV. Once we get healthy and bring in a quality CAM, as we surely must do in January, we're going to be in a strong position to challenge for top four and maybe even some silverware in the cups.

Good first half but from the first moment of the second half we seemed to lose our composure. Another beauty from Brad. Thank fuck we won, I can go another week without hanging myself and look forward to watching this again on Saturday.

Its times like these when i wonder what AVB is getting the team doing all week in training. I am getting slightly concerned by the guy to be fair, granted its early days and good players are still injured blah blah blah.

But his decision to keep Lloris on the bench is an odd one to say the least.

I couldn't agree more. Early days, he needs time etc etc, I'm not moaning at our lack of scintillating football, we have some fucking ordinary footballers out there, and that is not his fault, I'm just fucking disappointed at our 90 min work rate.

I know he has inherited a weak squad in terms of what it has been for blast four years, especially with injuries, but the one thing I hoped was that he'd get us working harder and more coherently. We seem incapable of playing two halves of football for most of the season so far.
