3 points and we're 4th again! 2 ahead of the Arse. Good result, but not easy to watch...

My grandma is all finesse man. :)

The feed I am watching is horrific, but from what I have seen he has had too many heavy touches. Just not a fan of his at the moment. Slow and all he offers is his pass.

It was more than the entire team offered second half.

Thank fuck for that. Our second half display was awful. Please AVB don't take off a midfielder that can actually keep the ball and replace with Livermore ever again. Please. It's not a coincidence that swapping Hudd for Livermore turned 2-1 into 2-3 last week and 0-2 into 1-2 today.

I'm not Livermore bashing but the entire balance of our team is lost with him and Sandro as the two CDMs.

Time for a rest for Walker too. Too clumsy in possession.

If you are going to blame players at least get your facts right. Last week when Livermore came on it was already 2 - 2. Livermore came on just after Mata scored the equalizer.

5 wins in 6 games in league. Still to put in a really good 90 mins, but its all about 3 points.

Really can't wait for Parker and Dembele to come back. With the greatest respect to Livermore doesn't do much.

Onwards though and 4th place.

I thought AVB was all about pressing high up the pitch. Apart from the first match against Newcastle, we have done the opposite. And worryingly, against not very good opposition so far.

4th in the league though. Really doesn't feel like we should be there on our performances so far. But once we get Dembele, Lloris and Ade in the starting line up, and we actually play with some aggression, we could have a really good season.

Well well well.
I'll take the 3 points, as will Man Shitty ans The Ar$e - who were both very poor yesterday but...

I'm looking forward to the day we actually play the game for two halves.

Other observations:
Bale turned up to score his goal, make his love heart and then decide he didn't really want to hurt his old team anymore.
The AVB change of Livermore for Huddlestone in the last two games has been instantly rewarded by us conceding within 5 minutes of that change. We're better with Hudd on the pitch, always have been - he keeps the ball moving - simple as that. Yes he's slower than the average bear - but so what - the ball is quicker than the fastest possible bear.
Friedal does not command his box - Time to change for the long term better good.
Verts was quiet today - Tme to move him back to Central Defence - give him the captaincy and find a leader in the team.
Walker still can't cross.
AVB's substitutions are very predictable.
Defoe should have had a hat trick.

But I'll take the 3 points....just.

We keep getting these results on the back of poor displays, but we have to remember Ade, BAE, Parker, Kaboul and Dembele are all out and that really limit us.
When key players start coming back from injury i can see us upping our game alot, and hopefully Lloris will be our number 1 by that time to.

It's Tottenham Jim but not as we know it.
I counted ten occasions when we hoofed the ball out of the defence straight back to them.
I stopped then as I had run out of fingers.
To those people who maintain that a win is a win and that we are fourth
I say, paint the kitchen and watch it dry.
Sad, lethargic, just about better than Southampton, but mainly sad.

I don't know what AVB says to them during the half-time talk, but he needs a new one. Our second half displays are characterized by lethargy and negative substitutions. In fact, AVB often looks to be covering more yards on the sideline than many of the players on the park.

Some players are shadows of their former selves - Walker being the most obvious one - while others look like they're struggling to make it - Siggy and Livermore spring to mind. But the fundamental negativity of the manager is something I'd like to see change. He keeps switching to destructive rather than constructive players with his subs early in the second half and we tend to perform very shakily from there to the final whistle.

i know hudd has his limitations but some people are blinkered with their relentless slaughtering of him, said it last week after the chelsea game - without him it would been such a sterile performance. The only one looking to pass progressively and can actually retain the football. Why some refuse to acknowledge at least a few of his strengths is beyond me.

Same shit, different week. Play decent for one half, play shit for the other. Take the lead and then camp the team at the edge of our box for the rest of the second half. Only Sandro played as if it wasn't a five-a-side match.

What the fuck has Friedel got to do to get dropped. He was fucking atrocious against Chelsea as well.

Defending on the corner was pretty poor, but Friedel has to take the blame for that goal. His distribution when we were under pressure was awful as well. Why the fuck did he keep hoofing the ball back to Southampton?

I'm delighted, bragging rights for me tonight at work in Southampton :ROFLMAO:

Honestly though, the 2nd half performance wasn't great but the players must have been a bit tired from Thursday plus the fact that we are incredibly thin at the moment. No Adebayor, Kaboul, Parker, Ekotto or Dembele, some of our best players and we still picked up an away win in a game which could have been very tough as relegation battling teams prove a lot of the time, I'm pleased for now.
