Parker seems a good bloke but at this stage he should be nowhere near our shortlist... I fear he is quite near the top though.

I actually think Parker- when needed- could do a solid job for us in the middle of the park; indeed, I have absolutely zero problems having him join us not as a starter (obviously) but as a squad player. He'd be an upgrade on Winks- that's for sure.

I reckon he'll provide some of the steel we've been missing; to that end, I can't fathom why everyone seems so dead-set against it.

I have a feeling Brendan Rodgers wants to take the job. And if not us, he would be interested in Arsenal. He sees himself as a top six manager in England or a top three manager in Spain.

Will he return to Liverpool? No. Man United, Man City and Chelsea are not going to open up for him any time soon. That leaves Spurs and Arsenal of the big six - and it is a big six despite what some think.

If he wins the FA Cup and gets Leicester in the Champions League what can he realistically improve on in the next few years? They won't win the league again and qualifying from the new group stage may be the best they can hope to achieve. Yes, they are ahead of us right now and a better team on paper, but taking on the Spurs job is still a step up from Leicester.

He will want his own staff, director of football and scouting network. The club needs to say yes especially on the DOF and Scouting. This is the overhaul we really need and not just a change in manager.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Article begins with:

"According to Eurosport, Scott Parker could be about to leave his position as Fulham’s head coach in a boost to Tottenham Hotspur’s search for Jose Mourinho’s successor."

and ends with:

"But Levy’s reluctance to appoint Parker will likely mark the end of the road for his return to north London this summer, even if there are those who feel he is the right man for the job."

This might possibly be the most pointless article ever.
