Go Malaysia! But what do you get for all the aggro and money? I enquired several times earlier this year about how to set up an official supporters' club here and despite two or three promises from the club they never sent me anything - a useless back office as well as useless on the pitch. I gave up chasing them and will use my correspondence with them in mitigation later as we remain unofficial. Finally, we will become OFFICIAL!! Refer the letter to the president of our fan club, Jack:
October 24th 2007
Dear Jack
I am pleased to confirm that you have complied with all our rules and regulations relating to the setting up of an Official Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Club. As such, you are authorised to describe your club as “Malaysia Spurs”.
Further, subject to our prior approval in writing, you may use the exclusive logo, Which I will be sending you very shortly (this should also be used for the layout of how to describe your supporters’ club) for the purposes only of your headed notepaper and website. For the avoidance of doubt, both the licence to use the exclusive logo and the right to describe yourself as an Official Supporters Club are entitlements, which may be terminated by us at any time for any reason without notice.
Would you please ask that your members who are applying for Club Membership clearly state that they are part of Tottenham Hotspur Malaysia so that we can identify them and ensure that they are appended to your supporters’ club.
Details of how to purchase home league match tickets together with allocations that may apply will be forwarded to you once we have the fixture list.
We will from time to time have special offers that are exclusive to our supporters’ clubs and you will be notified of any offer via email. We will also offer you the chance to present your award to your player of the year should you wish to do so if you or any of your members have the opportunity to come over.
Your liaison for the Club will be myself and I will be happy to answer any queries you may have. My email address is [email protected]
On behalf of the Club I would like to thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at White Hart Lane in the near future.
Yours sincerely,
Kay Lovelock
Yeah, from what i read last night, it's very "bells n whistles" from the organisers, but hardly anyone local appears to know it's even happening :lol:Yeah, it's getting loads of promotion from ESPN.
I watched the first part of Iran Vs Brazil yesterday. There were about 8 people in the stadium, which was a shame. Doesn't bode well for the Masters footy event later this year.
As I understand it, England are very much a developing nation in futsal. Barely ever played together, aren't used to the rules, get pumelled by even the minnows of the game, and generally disgrace themselves.
*Insert your own "No different to the 11-a-side team/Is their manager Steve McLaren?" joke here.
